I checked on http://www.lowcostroutes.com/en/fly_from_Charlotte_NC and found a flight from Charlotte, NC (CLT) to Tokyo Metropolitan Area (TYO) with Lan.

I would check out United Airlines from Charlotte to Chicago and from Chicago to Tokyo. Other option is Delta/Northwest from Charlotte to Detroit and Detroit into Tokyo.
