Flight connection time! HELP PLEASE

Flight connection time! HELP PLEASE!?
So my boyfriend is coming out to visit me and hes flying from Charlotte to Seattle but connecting through Newark... His flight from Charlotte to Newark lands at 7:30pm and his connecting flight leaves at 8:00pm.. which in retrospect only gives him about 10 minutes to connect or less because taxiing and what not... im super worried he wont make his flight and i have to drive to seattle to get him.. anyone know if thats enough time and if he does miss his flight will the airline pay for him to get the next flight to seattle?! Thank you!

I believe they will put him on the next AVAILABLE flight, meaning flight with seats available, which may not be the next flight Making travel arrangements with less than an hour between flights is just plain foolish, I won't do it.

It's been done before, but he has no time to chit chat and he better be going fast if his first flight is delayed by as little as 1 minute he should be put on a different flight free of charge, who booked this flight because they shouldn't have done that

When you look at the time for flight take off and landing, it appears to tell you the time it takes off and the time it lands. The time it lands is usually actually the time it arrives at the gate. The airline takes into account taxi time (which, by the way, rarely takes 20 minutes, even at large airports) so he should have enough time. If something happens, he'll just have to reschedule. That's unlikely to happen, though. 10minutes should be enough time if it is that, though, if he is willing to rush, maybe even run, through the airport.

Your boyfriend should actually have the full 30 minutes to make his connection. As mentioned already, the 7:30 p.m. arrival time is the time the aircraft is scheduled to pull into the gate, and the 8:00 p.m. departure time is the time the aircraft is scheduled to push back from the gate. The good news is that Continental's Newark hub is not too spread out, so your boyfriend shouldn't have to run too far to make his connection. The bad news is that if he is seated in the back of the plane on the Charlotte-Newark flight, it'll eat up a good 5-10 minutes before he's able to get off the plane...AND...Newark can get pretty ugly if any weather or ATC delays start screwing with the airport.

the 7;30pm means the time the plane arrives at the gate not the time the plane lands on the runway so he will have 1/2 hours i have connections like that and i only had 40 minutes my plane arrived at the gate at the schedule time and i made my connection.
