Can you skip certain flight connections?
I'm looking for a flight from Charlotte, NC to Sevilla, Spain that departs on May 31st and returns on June 21st. The cheapest flight I found is $680, but here's the itinerary: Depart Charlotte, land in Madrid. 9 hour layover, then connecting flight to Barcelona. 2 hour layover, then connecting flight to Sevilla. Can I just fly to Madrid and skip the flight to Barcelona? I could take a train or a bus to Sevilla. Would that affect my other flights? The return trip is Sevilla to Barcelona, Barcelona to Madrid, with an overnight layover in Madrid. The flight to Charlotte would be the morning after I arrive in Madrid, so the 22nd of June. Can I skip the first 2 flights and take the train again to Madrid and just catch the last leg of the flight? I've only flown a few times, all domestically, and I'm not sure how this works...

As soon as you miss any part of a ticket, the entire booking will be canceled.

You need to call the airline and ask. I believe your luggage will be taken off of the connecting flight and then you won't get the next one if you don't check in.

Don't do that. When you miss a connection, then ENTIRE rest of the ticket will be canceled - including the return portion. You will have tossed all that money down the drain in order to try to save a few dollars. Talk with a travel agent or with the airline to see what flights might work out best for you.

Longlive... is quite RIGHT! As soon as you MISS one leg of your itinerary ALL your itinerary is CANCELLED! And lost! Suggestion: From CLT try US to MAD only and then take your train.
