Connecting Flight information

Connecting Flight information?
Hi, I'm a first time traveler never been on an airplane and never been out of the UK. I'm due to fly over to orlando with a connecting flight at charlotte, i was just wondering what i would have to do etc. Some sites i've visited say i will need to collect my checked bags and others say i won't need to and that they'll be placed on my connecting flight and that all i'll have to worry about is getting to the gate on time. Any idea what i should expect? I'm also concerned that, on my flight over to the US there is a 3 hour wait for the connecting flight but on my return there is only a 1 hour and 20 minute wait. Will this be enough time to get things rechecked etc

When you check your bag in the UK it will be checked to Orlando. You won't really have to worry about anything, Charlotte airport is very easy to get around and you will find signs and people to help you everywhere. Welcome to the US and enjoy Orlando.

On a domestic connection (and sometimes on an international flight to international flight connection) your checked bags just get transferred for you. But in th case you describe you will clear customs at Charlotte, so you will have to collect them there and re-check after customs. Don't worry, USAir does this every day and their schedule is planned for you to have enough time to make the connection. Update:Again, don't worry. You need more time on arrival because you have to claim your bags and clear customs. On the return trip you don't.

in your connecting flight usually your luggage will be delivered to your destination.but there are times that some luggage was mis place and goes to other place and not to where you will landed..so its better to check in luggage area if ur luggage is there and put it to your connecting flight to avoid mislading your luggage.. about the time of your conecting, 1 hour is enough.u dont need to worry bcoz your airlines will not give u with that time if its not enough.just make sure to go directly to you next flight gate or counter..

When you arrive Charlotte you will have to do U.S. immigration and customs there as it will be your first point of entry into the U.S. You will go thru immigration first where you present your passport then you will proceed into the customs hall and wait for your luggage and collect your luggage and take it thru customs. Your luggage will already be tagged thru to Orlando you need only to turn it back over the airline to be rechecked. You will find the luggage transfer area when you come out of customs. 3 hours for your connection is good for that process. For your return flight, 1 hr and 20 minutes in Charlotte is fine, you will not need to reclaim your luggage going in that direction since the flight originates in Orlando and is a domestic flight. Your luggage will be checked thru to the UK and you won't see it again until you arrive back in the UK and do UK immigration/customs on arrival back in the UK. It sounds like you are flying US Airways with the Charlotte connection, they are pretty good. Have a great time in Florida.

You will have to go thru immigration and customs, and then there will be a counter to ck your luggage again to Orlando but it will be just droping off your bags, but you will go thru security ck so make sure you aren t carrying liquids items that are on the no no list. Your bags will make it easily to the orland connection. As to you ck on where the connecting flight is and keep checking because they change gates sometimes you can sleep once your on the flight
