The Lakers were actually at one point the Minneapolis Lakers so that actually makes sense. The Washington Presidents would be a good fit with the rest of the sports teams (Capitals, Nationals, not so much Redskins but still...) The Clippers aren't very forceful so that would be funny in itself. The rest are a bit off. Sorry guy.

The hornets-jazz swap makes the most sense. I like the Memphis change, too. The others don't seem that great.

Is there a way i can look for flights leaving from multiple cities

Is there a way i can look for flights leaving from multiple cities?
For example i live in upstate sc, so i could fly out of GSP, but sometimes my friends and family have discovered that driving to Atlanta or Charlotte for a flight is sometimes cheaper. Is there a website or something that i can use to search using these 3 as departing destinations w/o having to do 3 separate searches?

the best way to do this is to head to a travel agency. They can do this type of search for you and they will also might be able to find you some seat sales that aren't open to the general public. Good luck
2 :
Actually, you don't need to go through a travel agent ;). There's are a couple of great websites out there that let you search a radius of airports that surround your current city. For instance, if I wanted to fly to Orlando from where I currently live, near Detroit, I could search for flights out of Flint Bishop, Detroit, or Cleveland. Many airlines already incorporate this feature. I would suggest two sites: kayak.com and farecompare.com. At farecompare.com, after you search for one flight, it will send you to another page where you can find a link that says "your advanced options." Click that link and select "Add Alternate Cities," which will give you a huge list of alternate departure and arrival airports. At Kayak.com, simply check "Search Nearby Airports." Travel agents use these sites often, and charge you fees for stuff that you could do at home, at least for the airfare portion of a trip. Also, many airlines offer the "search multiple airports" option on their websites. You just have to look sometimes. -Happy flying!

Is a 57-minute layover enough time for a domestic flight

Is a 57-minute layover enough time for a domestic flight?
I'm arriving at Charlotte International Airport, and have to connect to a flight bound for Philly during a 57-minute connection time. I won't have to mess with baggage because both flights are with the same airline. Will I have to go through security again though? What exactly is the procedure for making a connection? Do you just hop out of one gate and go to the next? Or do you have to check in somewhere?
Air Travel - 6 Answers
Random Answers, Critics, Comments, Opinions :
1 :
You won't have to go through security again. All you have to do is go from the gate you get out of and go to the new gate.
2 :
One hour layover is an typical average, for me. You can usually wander from one gate to another. You are inside the airport and past security, so you do not need to go through security, again. When you arrive, check the departure board and go to your gate. Once you are at the departure gate, you can decide if you have time to get a snack, buy a drink, or do some shopping. You should have a boarding pass from your first check in, so you can board when your row or number is called.
3 :
You should already be up at the gates when you get off the first plane. Most airports only have security going into the gate area, but you'll already be there. Try to find out exactly where your next gate is though, just because some airports are very large and may take a while just to get from one side to the other! But with an hour to kill you should be fine.
4 :
Biggest hazard is that your checked baggage may not make such a tight connection. This happens when the TSA decides they have to inspect all the bags AGAIN before sending them to a connecting flight! I never connect without at least two hours wait time when travelling with checked baggage.
5 :
More than enough time!! I've had 29 minutes between flights and made it. Two tips: 1. Try to sit in a front rwo on your first flight so you will get off the plane sooner. 2. Have your boarding pass for the 2nd flight with you. GOOD LUCK!

Could this be a dry run for another terror attack

Could this be a dry run for another terror attack?
Bottle Prompts W.Va. Terminal Evacuation Aug 17 3:35 PM US/Eastern Email this story CEREDO, W.Va. A West Virginia airport terminal was evacuated Thursday after a female passenger's water bottle twice tested positive for explosives, a Transportation Security Administration spokeswoman said. "The bomb squad is on site and the woman is being interviewed by the FBI," Amy von Walter said. Security checkpoint screeners got a positive test on a machine that uses swabs to find traces of explosives, von Walter said. A bomb- sniffing dog also reacted to the water bottle. A screener noticed the bottle in a woman's carryon bag as she prepared to board a flight to Charlotte, N.C., said Tri-State Airport authority President Jim Booton. Commercial airline service was temporarily suspended, and about 100 passengers and airport employees were ordered to leave the terminal, Booton said. At least one flight was diverted to Charleston's Yeager Airport, about 60 miles away. http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/americas/5261456.stm The bad thing is, we have to right 100% of the time - while the enemy has to be right only once, to accomplish their aims

how come closer destinations have flights to each other

how come closer destinations have flights to each other?
how come closer destinations have flights to each other? how come Boston has Flights to NEw York City when they are 3.5 hours apart? and why does like Charlotte have flights to Spartanburg and Greensboro when they are 100 miles or less from Charlotte???? and why does Pittsburgh have flights to DC when they are driveable. Why does Baltimore have flights to Philadelphia when they are 100 miles apart? and also I am from NH And when I go to NC or SC states I always drive but why would most from my state fly?
Air Travel - 6 Answers

1 :
some people dont want drive also a lot of frequenetly fliers can earn points for flying they cant do that driving they might have bussines in the airport.
2 :
100 miles or 160 km is normally the "limit" where air travel begins to be useful. It makes no sense to have a flight that is 50 miles but somewhere near and above 100 miles, it does. Remember it will take you about 2 hours to drive 100 miles (depending on roads and traffic). A flight is only about 30 minutes.
3 :
just to add from other responses, that there also has to be a reasonable demand, and could well be in smaller aircraft.
4 :
People are sometimes in a rush, business-wise, emergencies, etc. BOS-JFK/EWR, 3.5 hours apart with driving, 30-40 minutes by flying. If your relative/sibling/parent suddenly needs help or a business opportunity that requires you to be in New York as soon as possible, what do you do? Take a flight. You can drive your way down to Brazil, why not do that then? Nobody would want to bother with paying car insurance where they aren't insured in. Cars can break down on highways more than planes breaking down in airports, delaying you more time, you may need to get more rest-stops. Or some people are so dog gone tired they rather fly. Be considerate and think of these reasons, not everything is so simple and cheap as driving.
5 :
Some people would rather fly because it gets you there quicker. Also sometimes airline flights between 2 cities are really cheap so it is almost worth it to pay for the plane ticket and earn frequent flier miles versus driving, paying for gas and accumulating miles on your car.
6 :
It is possible. Many don't want to drive or just wanna loose traffic and reach a lot faster.

FSX- How to create a 2nd Flight Planner after you already completed your 1st one.?
So i just completed my IFR flight plan and journey from Dallas to Miami. I did the takeoff, cruise, descent, approach, landed, and taxi to the gate given to me by ATC. Now i want to take off from Miami and maybe go to Charlotte. How do i create a new flight plan and start off at the exact position i am at. I don't want to start at a new gate or on an active runway. I want to use the exist same aircraft in the same exact spot.

Follow these simple instruction 1. Hit "Alt" on your keyboard while in your parked at the gate (A menu should pop up at the top). 2. Then click flights at the top right hand corner of your screen 3. Then you want to click "Flight planner" and make your flight like you normally would hit "ok" 4. It will ask you "Do you want to move your aircraft to the departure airport and hit NO. Then you'll be back to your aircraft 5. Then when you open your ATC menu it should said *Clearance. Get your clearance and there you go! (How about 10 points best answer) *The airport your in or the center you are in.

Flight time

Flight time?
Does anyone know how long the flight is from Charlotte, NC (Charlotte Douglass Airport) to Antigua? I wasn't sure how long the actual in-air flight time is? Thanks! It's a direct flight from Charlotte to Antigua. I wasn't able to find anything on the US Airways site about flight distances?? Any other ideas...

1 :
if you look up the flight on the air lines web site, it well say.
2 :
3 hours
3 :
It all depends on your flight schedule; how many stops are you making. Normally with just one stop, usually at San Juan (PR) you can get to Antigua in as little as 7 hours or with two stops, you can expect travel time in excess of 12 1/2 hours. Please call your airline directly and ask them about your specific flight to see how long will your actual travel time be. Have a safe and pleasant flight.
4 :
I got this off the US Airways sight. Non Stop it takes about 4 hours and 8 mins to Antigua from Charlotte and it takes about 4 hours and 26 mins on the return. Pretty much the same as flying across country, or something like CLT-LAX. The flight times are posted on the far right of the fares on US Airways under the "Details/Time" tab.

This summer my parents are planning to send me to Bosnia alone for a month as most of my family is over there. We are just unsure if I can travel alone internationally. I'm a bit younger. And I'm aloud to travel alone on international flight. Maybe go with a flight attendant. They'll guide you on the plane, and to your next flight. It might cost a bit more though. Otherwise maybe try checking with the airlines because some let you and some don't unless your over 18 years old.
2 :
i think u can.. jus ask the airline for information
3 :
You should be able to travel alone on an international flight you would just have to travel as an unaccompanied minor. You would be looked after by people while you are at your stop overs. Just let the airline your are traveling with your age and they will do the rest and make sure that your are looked after.

im from bosnia as well and ur parent are really linient i wouldnt do it its really scary ! you are looking over a 24 hour flight in total.... and in europe its scary!

You will need to check with Lufthansa. They will send you all the necessary forms.

No because you bought a ticket to Columbia. You can call US and see what the fee is to chang it may be worth it to pay. Or you can ship your bag home UPS and not checkl any bag at all, and just eave when you get to CLT
2 :
Great Question -- just call or email your airline to see what they say, also you could get your flight changed or always use the trusty UPS and Fed Ex -- if you are 1st Class or are on a Freakwent Flyer program their is a chance your fees COULD be waived or they could let you get your baggage however dont count on it -- if nessisary threten to never fly with them again...!! LOL -- Hope this works for you!! :}.
3 :
It depends on if you're going back CAE-CLT-PHL or not. You might be allowed to pick up your bags in CLT, however if this is the outbound portion of a roundtrip ticket PHL-CLT-CAE-CLT-PHL, the instant you don't show up for the CLT-CAE, they will automatically cancel the rest of your trip, i.e. the CAE-CLT and the CLT-PHL flights. But if it's a one-way trip, if the agent is nice, he/she may allow you to check your bag only to CLT. Technically this is against many airline's rules, but the odds of them coming after your for the price difference is pretty low. I myself have done this once - we had tickets CDG-ZRH-BOM, BOM-ZRH-CDG. On the way back, we told the agent in Bombay that we wanted to just get off in Zurich and she had no problem with that.

On the 15th, you Will be switching planes in charlotte, nc. You MIGHT not make your connecting flight, because of the time difference between New Orleans and charlotte. (11am in NO, is 12 in nc... plus 1h53m for travel = landing time being 2:00ish, giving you VERY little time to get to your next flight before boarding) On the 19th, you will be switching planes in charlotte again, with a layover of about 45minutes. call your airline to ask if the time difference will be an issue and if it is... what can they do about it. Happy flying!!

It's about $240 one-way if you could go from Oakland on JetBlue. (Options from SFO are at least $100 more today). However, this flight doesn't depart until tonight (11th Nov.) it's overnight and gets you to Charlotte at 09:15 Monday morning. Also, Northwest has a flight departing San Jose at 12:10 today (Nov 11) getting you to Charlotte by 10:16 p.m. for $314 one-way. You have more options out of SFO, all starting around $340, but all connecting. A nonstop flight will cost $1000+ today for this itinerary. However, if you can travel with carry-on only, and don't plan to fly USAir again for some years, you could purchase a flight to Raleigh (RDU) which actually connects at Charlotte. This is another crazy airfare pricing game that doesn't seem to make any sense, but airlines do it for variety of reasons. It's $249 one-way if you book SFO-RDU one-way and just hop off at Charlotte. This flight leaves at 9 a.m. from SFO today, arrives CLT at 4:47 p.m. It's technically against the rules (called "hidden city ticketing") to hop off, that's why I say carry-on bag only, and no plans to fly USAir again for some years, and only on a one-way ticket :)

Ah, you have found the issue of "Supply and Demand" haven't you! Look it up, you are in school! How many people fly from Jacksonville to Port Charlotte? Not too many on any given day. Thus tickets are high. If there were demand, there would be more flights. Most smaller US cities have the same issue. You can go from JAX to MIA for under 250. (In fact close checks even show under 200 in some cases.) Why not learn to fly, you can make that trip very easy in a C172 or Piper Warrior/Cherokee etc! Probably would cost you more than a ticket but you could travel when you wanted.

Ask your doctor / nurse practitioner / pharmacist / Mum. It depends on how you react to the drug. My partner she was knocked out by the stuff for almost 24 hrs, now she only uses Gravol (not gravel) because it reacts better with her. If you react badly like her you don't want to be taking it for departure and you want to be awake for arrivals. If you must take something only do it during the long legs of your flights.
2 :
Have you tried it for how it will affect you? Also if you are looking to be sedated during the trip are you travelling with someone you trust? Bad things happen to people who are fully alert just naive'. I have been to Punta Cana last year in July. (Heck of a place to celebrate the Fourth of July. You might consider looking deep into yourself and figure out why flying is crippling you. Then attack it head on. There is no need to allow something to cause you grief like this... You are strong. Trust in your faith and meet the challenge head on so you can enjoy the earth in many destinations without being knocked out.!!!

Darth, you have been asking this question over and over. Your father needs to go on the Disney web site and see packages there. There are NO cheap tickets to Disney. Disney is expensive to go to. Cheap and Disney do not go together. SW month for next year will not be posted till next year. If you stay at any disney resort you will get the Magical Express for free. You can get your photo with pooh, tigger, goofy and stitich at the Magic Kingdom.

Try looking on the Disney World website. They have tons of information about everything. If you look on the calendar, it says when exactly everything is. May 22, 2009 - May 24, 2009 May 29, 2009 - May 31, 2009 June 5, 2009 - June 7, 2009 June 12, 2009 - June 14, 2009 are the dates for this year .. so they will probably be similar next year. The Disney website can also help you with just about everything else; they have a trip planner and can help you find a low price for airfare and hotel rooms. The admission to the park is expensive, but if your going for that specific event, then your probably willing to pay. All Disney hotels offer free shuttles to the parks. You can get your picture taken at the Magic Kingdom, or at Character breakfast's (tons of fun, I recommend it.) You can get your picture taken with any character at any of the parks (although sometimes there is a line). You can download Disney songs from whatever you use to download music, just type in Disney songs. If you are still looking for help, try buying the Disney World guide book, from your local book store. It's pretty bang on with just about everything! Anyways, good luck planning your trip!

I guess with the crisis going on, less people are going to Disney World and they must be sending out special offers to attract more clients. So keep an eye on TV commercials, advertisements, ETC. If you think going to Disney World is expensive, imagine us that we have to go from South America (party of 4), but I'll tell you that is worth every penny and we have gone 4 times already! The best is to get a package that includes staying at a Disney Hotel, Disney All Stars is a cheap one and you get the chance to get in early before the crowds gather up. The best places to get photographed with disney characters are MAGIC KINGDOM & ANIMAL KINGDOM, Stitch and Star Wars characters are more likable to hang out at MGM Studios. In every Theme Park they will give you a brochure that it's really a map of the theme park plus it's attractions and schedules. Go there really early then for lunch go to Mc Donald's near Thyphoon Lagoon and spend some sunny afternoons at eather typhoon Lagoon or blizzard Beach, then after 5pm back to the theme parks. Buy a 5 day Disney Park Hopper plus Two. This will enable you to go from park to park, twice go to Typhoon Lagoon, Pleasure Island, Blizzard beach. The unused days never expire so you can use it on a future trip, even if it's 10 years after! 5 days is a lot for Disney but keep in mind that maybe you get a rain storm that could ruin your day. Learn how to use the FASTPASS, I couldn't use it more than 4 times in one day (with all our experience) and go to the best attractions many times! You should ask what are the best attraction at each Park

1."Where can I find 2 cheap Disney World tickets in a cheap Disney World package plus flights from Charlotte to Orlando plus Disney's Magical Express shuttle service?" If you simply go to the Disney World site and set up a vacation package, they can plan the whole thing for you and price it. For cheapER tickets try TheOfficialTicketCenter.com, UndercoverTourist.com and MapleLeafTickets.com I don't think you can get Magical Express with this. 2. When is next year's Star Wars weekends and is Anakin going to be there next year? The 2010 tickets haven't gone on sale yet. I bet they announce the weekends with that. 3. Where can I get my photo taken with Pooh, Tigger, Goofy, and Stitch? The characters roam all over the parks, but there are designated spots in all four parks to meet like four characters at a time. 4. Where can I download free Disney songs? Free Disney radio... not exactly a download: uabmagic.com 5.Do I need a Disney World guide book? Honestly, I have friends who are in WDW right now for the first time and they only know a few attractions and they are fine. A cheaper alternative is to go to touringplans.com and subscribe. I think its $7. THey give you touringplans and 'cheat sheets'. that should be enough.

the cheapest flight I found to santiago, chile was $1,100 is there a cheaper one?
On hotwire.com I found a flight out of Charlotte, NC to Santiago, Chile for $1,100. Are there any other sites that have cheaper flights? It needs to be round-trip, and I don't care how many times it stops. I'm looking to go between May 19, 2008 thru May 26, 2008.

Highly unlikely. The last time I was there was 8 years ago and it was $800 at cheapest. Beautiful city though, enjoy.

I'm thinking no, sorry

nah....cheapest $1,180.00 with Delta.

Yes there are many cheapest flight. You can compair rates between different chep air line compnies, Here is list of some best one, you can book online also, http://cheap-airlines-tickets.blogspot.com/
6 :
OneTravel.com, a consolidator, have it for $740rt total with tax. Once caveat: you have to change from LaGuardia to Kennedy airport in New York, but saving $360 per ticket with plenty of time to make the connection (and do some quick NYC shopping?) might be worth the "hassle."

Cheapest airline to fly between Boston MA and Charlotte NC

Cheapest airline to fly between Boston MA and Charlotte NC?
I need to make a round trip flight between Boston MA and Charlotte NC this month- anyone know which airline has the cheapest fare?
Air Travel - 6 Answers
Random Answers, Critics, Comments, Opinions :
1 :
You should check all airlines leaving Boston for sales. Without a sale, Airtran is generally cheapest.
2 :
I did a search on www.cheapoair.com and the cheapest flight is $148.00, with the departing airline being Continental Airlines and the returning airline being AirTran. I searched using a random date though, so maybe another date would have a cheaper fare.
3 :
Some specialized sites compare airfares from different airlines. The most popular ones are listed here: http://www.willgoto.com/1/023798/liens.aspx Use flexible dates in your query whenever it is possible. Include low cost airlines in your query whenever it is possible. Flight with Continental on June 24, return June 29 costs about $150
4 :
Have you seen what the price it would be if you flew with US Airways? Also see how much a ticket costs if you fly Southwest out of Providence, Rhode Island.
5 :
US Airways http://www.usairways.com/ Flight ticket between Boston, Massachusetts (BOS) and Charlotte, North Carolina (CLT) in Round-Trip: Total Price: $684.70 USD per person
6 :
there are quite a few sites that you can search that will likely give you the best prices available. just go here: http://bookme.com/flights.php and you will be able to compare prices on all the reputable travel sites in just a couple minutes. it's very convenient and will save you a bunch of time and money. Also, make sure you buy them online... otherwise they charge much higher fees for phone orders. good luck.

Any idea how long a flight from Pittsburgh PA to Charlotte NC would be

Any idea how long a flight from Pittsburgh PA to Charlotte NC would be?
My Grandmother's 15 year old Bichon Frise just died a week ago, she lives alone and has been very lonely without him and so I've talked with her and I've decided that I will buy her a new puppy for Christmas. We've been looking and we've found one that she has fallen in love with, but the puppy is in Pennsylvania. I did a check on mapquest and it would take us a little over 9 hours to drive there and that's just not going to be possible for us not to mention that I think a drive that long would really stress the puppy out even more than it's already going to be going into a new home. So if we get this puppy we will have to have it shipped. The breeders will most likely be shipping from Pittsburgh and we would be picking the puppy up in Charlotte NC so I'm just wondering if anyone has any idea how long a flight like that would be? I'm just trying to figure out what's going to be the best option for the puppy. Thanks!

1 hour 30 mins is the average flight time from Pittsburgh to Charlotte. + About 30 mins of loading/unloading. Thats nothing for a dog, I took mine overseas about 3 times in 8 hour flights.. but they were on meds lol. Much faster than driving obviously.. ;P
2 :
Online travel site shows the shortest flight from Pittsburgh to Charlotte is one hour, thirty eight minutes. That's a non stop. Everything grows from there according to what you want to do. A one stop flight is going to be longer but cheaper.

The scheduled flight time is 4hr 50 min but actual flight time is about 4hr 20min. For Jim2: Yes there is an international airport, San Jose del Cabo airport code SJD. Yes there is a nonstop from Charlotte. US Airways flight 946/947 flies 4 times a week in season and twice a week off season. You're a top contributor for Mexico? LOL stick with Cancun For Cabochick23: There most certainly is a nonstop flight from Charlotte to Cabo San Lucas (SJD), here's a link with the flight info: http://matrix.itasoftware.com/cvg/dispatch/bonsaiproxy/p;jsessionid=E706AA152B465C17DCBD38A7036C992A?V=M29151852095313382572&AAC=2010-06-15-15&AAA=30&TBS=30&L=B27703296596613857565&J=0&Q=-1 US Airways operates this flight 4 times a week on Sat, Sun, Mon & Thu between mid Dec and August. From Sep thru Nov its twice a week on Sat & Sun.

There are no non-stop flights from Charlotte. Depending on the airline ,by the time you reach San Jose del Cabo 7-10 hours would have passed depending on the layover. There is no international airport in Cabo San Lucas. M...59% lol

You need to go to several different sites to price it out and then see who offers the lowest rates. This will be the best way to find out. All the online discounters are all pretty safe to go through. Just be sure you understand policies, etc. in case you need to cancel or change your flight. Look over what you book several times to make sure it is what you want/need. As far as the one site that is the best, it's really hard to tell you. They will all vary and change all the time. One site may be lower for one person, higher for the next. You just have to do your research and see what yo find. In my expereince, the cheapest way to go is directly through the airline. In my past dozen trips, that I can remember, the airline has always been cheaper than the online discounters. Just look around and see what you can find. Check around online. There are several online discounters, like expedia, priceline, orbitz, etc. This is usually the cheapest way to go. But you should also check directly through airline sites to see if they are running a special. It is also easier to make changes if you use the airline directly instead of a discounter. For example, air tran often offers discounted tickets on Tuesdays and Thursdays and it is cheaper than through other online sites. I prefer to go with the air sites directly. Not only are they usually a less than discounters, but if you have to make a change or cancel, it is a lot easier than going with the discounters. Also watch in the newspapers and such, they often advertise specials in the newspaper . Hope this helps!

Go to www.usairways.com Charlotte is a hub for them and they have a lot of flights and it is cheaper to book on their site.

How can I found the cheapest Tickets flights from North Carolina Charlotte to Vladivostok Russia

How can I found the cheapest Tickets flights from North Carolina Charlotte to Vladivostok Russia?

Air Travel - 6 Answers

1 :
book the flight well in advance. Try cheap tickets.com or travelocity. From Charlotte the only international flight is Lufthansa to Frankfurt Germany and from there you would need to book another flight to Russia. Otherwise try a domestic flight to Dulles or JFK in New York and then book the flight to Russia from there.
2 :
I think your best bet is to monitor this fare and sign up for alerts at http://www.farecompare.com/fare-search/year.html?type=homepage2&departure=CLT&destination=VVO&t=r&s=r#Select_Month Also check http://www.bookingbuddy.com which will search Kayak, Orbitz, airlines direct, and many consolidators, etc. etc. for you--all in 1 go.
3 :
Hi I, Go to http://www.fhtmus.com/dirxweb and click on the Travel FHTM icon tremendous comb.trip and prices.
4 :
If you fly from the states to Vladivostok, it's going to be a) a trip with a MINIMUM of 2 stops and b) incredible expensive for a coach fare under one booking (well over 3,000 dollars). Instead, why don't you fly into Moscow (a one stop flight for under 1,000 dollars) and take a train to Vladivostok? Or you could book two separate tickets; one from Charlotte to Moscow and another from Moscow to Vladivostok? This would only be about 1,500 dollars, but you'd have to reclaim and recheck your luggage, as well as go through many more security checkpoints AND deal with Aeroflot on a domestic flight =] So it's up to you what you do, but personally, I'd pick the option with the train. Have a nice trip!
5 :
Woe. clt-v vo 3600 on redhotescapes website dont know how that compares to what you have seen depends on your dates also
6 :
Irinia, Goto www.koreanairlines.com. Put in dates you want to travel. The round trip via Asia is about $2500. There are many ways to go. You can go to Tokyo for less than $800, but I could not find space on Aeroflot to Vladivostok. You might try contacting them directly. Regards, Dan

There is no cost separate from your ticket for airline food. Some people like the airline food but I think most people don't. The few times I've had it haven't been good. It comes in little microwave type dishes and is reheated on the plane. If possible I would call the airline ahead of time and tell them you are a vegetarian. That way you get fresh food. I did this after someone told me about it and it was much better.

this might be consider a domestic flight and usually you have to buy food (its not included with the ticket) i had a sandwih when i flew them from Lax to Charolotte it was pretty good

How do you feel when the airport staff makes you late for your connecting flight

How do you feel when the airport staff makes you late for your connecting flight?
I was coming home from San Diego Ca on a flight . I will not give the name of the airline ,becaus it would knock down some of their reputation. I got to the airport at 4:15 that morning and my flight wasn't leaving until 6:50. The wait was short for picking up my tickets.I thought that was pretty good because sometims it could be crowded standing in line. I got on the plane about 6:30 getting ready for take off. Do you know, that I and 120 other people waited there until 7:33 for take off. I can't understand why they put you through so much and delay your flight. So when I got to the George Bush intl. , I was late for my connecting flight to Charlotte NC and stayed there for another 3 hours. I think they should have a better system for customers when it comes to these flight arrangements. They always want you to be on time but they can't be on time for us. 1st of all (I work for a major airline...) Nobody wants that plane to be on time and everything to go hunky dory more than the airlines... We lose money with every flight that doesn't go well, and why on earth would we want to lose money... People who call up the complaint line (I'm the complaint manager) have it in their head some stupid conspiracy theories that the airlines did it just to make them mad, or they actually think we "save" money by cancelling flights. Nothing could be further from the truth...Think about it...It all starts with a govt. rundown Air Traffic Control System, then...you have a million people in one place at the same time all trying to carry a million bags on board, then you have the govt. security screeners, then you have the the weather, then you have a huge amount of people who won't take responsibility for their actions. I don't care why you left the gate to go get a drink or a sandwich! Be at the gate when they board, or you will miss your flight... People's pathetic personal reasons for "whatever" it was that caused them to miss their flight do not concern us...just be at that gate when they are boarding, Capiche?!? It don't matter WHY you're not there...just be there, and arrive two hours before departure at the airport, and if you're smart, you'll buy a large specially designed to fit in the overhead compartment piece of luggage, and you will travel with just ONE carry on piece of luggage, and buy all your namby pamby bathroom needs at the store when you get to your destination...just sit down, and shut up, and enjoy your destination, this is NOT Romper Room or A Hilton Hotel Suite in the Sky...dammit, people...just deal with it with grace, finesse, style, and a stoically realistic grip on reality... Or I will be forced to give you all a noogie...(smiles)
3 :
You're really quite right to complain. And you shouldn't be afraid to mention the airline involved - they all need a good prod. How do I feel? Annoyed, frustrated, and disgusted that the air transport industry in the States has turned into something of a zoo. But my feelings are one thing. How I react is calm, cool, with a nice smile on my face. That usually gets more kind attention from already over-harassed and understaffed airline employees. Last time it happened to me, I faced an 8 hour delay in Newark waiting for a US Air flight to Charlotte. Everyone else on the plane was up in arms. I finally got to the US Air attendant and smiled at her and asked her what was available. She said she wasn't sure but that if I'd check back in 2 hours, she could give me a definite answer. So I took out my computer, hooked onto wi-fi, waited the two hours or so, went back still smiling and looking obviously tired (I had just made an 18 hour flight from Singapore). She went through the list and got me a seat - in first class, no less. I winked at her and told her she had won my heart!

Connecting Flight information

Connecting Flight information?
Hi, I'm a first time traveler never been on an airplane and never been out of the UK. I'm due to fly over to orlando with a connecting flight at charlotte, i was just wondering what i would have to do etc. Some sites i've visited say i will need to collect my checked bags and others say i won't need to and that they'll be placed on my connecting flight and that all i'll have to worry about is getting to the gate on time. Any idea what i should expect? I'm also concerned that, on my flight over to the US there is a 3 hour wait for the connecting flight but on my return there is only a 1 hour and 20 minute wait. Will this be enough time to get things rechecked etc
Air Travel - 6 Answers
Random Answers, Critics, Comments, Opinions :
1 :
When you check your bag in the UK it will be checked to Orlando. You won't really have to worry about anything, Charlotte airport is very easy to get around and you will find signs and people to help you everywhere. Welcome to the US and enjoy Orlando.
2 :
On a domestic connection (and sometimes on an international flight to international flight connection) your checked bags just get transferred for you. But in th case you describe you will clear customs at Charlotte, so you will have to collect them there and re-check after customs. Don't worry, USAir does this every day and their schedule is planned for you to have enough time to make the connection. Update:Again, don't worry. You need more time on arrival because you have to claim your bags and clear customs. On the return trip you don't.
3 :
in your connecting flight usually your luggage will be delivered to your destination.but there are times that some luggage was mis place and goes to other place and not to where you will landed..so its better to check in luggage area if ur luggage is there and put it to your connecting flight to avoid mislading your luggage.. about the time of your conecting, 1 hour is enough.u dont need to worry bcoz your airlines will not give u with that time if its not enough.just make sure to go directly to you next flight gate or counter..
4 :
When you arrive Charlotte you will have to do U.S. immigration and customs there as it will be your first point of entry into the U.S. You will go thru immigration first where you present your passport then you will proceed into the customs hall and wait for your luggage and collect your luggage and take it thru customs. Your luggage will already be tagged thru to Orlando you need only to turn it back over the airline to be rechecked. You will find the luggage transfer area when you come out of customs. 3 hours for your connection is good for that process. For your return flight, 1 hr and 20 minutes in Charlotte is fine, you will not need to reclaim your luggage going in that direction since the flight originates in Orlando and is a domestic flight. Your luggage will be checked thru to the UK and you won't see it again until you arrive back in the UK and do UK immigration/customs on arrival back in the UK. It sounds like you are flying US Airways with the Charlotte connection, they are pretty good. Have a great time in Florida.
5 :
Dear GerdP: Please stop giving bad answers on here. US Airways flight #733 flies from LGW to Charlotte and #732 Charlotte to LGW.
6 :
You will have to go thru immigration and customs, and then there will be a counter to ck your luggage again to Orlando but it will be just droping off your bags, but you will go thru security ck so make sure you aren t carrying liquids items that are on the no no list. Your bags will make it easily to the orland connection. As to you ck on where the connecting flight is and keep checking because they change gates sometimes you can sleep once your on the flight

Because my dad needs to know this so he can book a flight from Charlotte to Orlando. Also am I allowed to have a Star Wars lightsaber in my carry on bag? Am I allowed to have a cellphone and an Ipod onboard the plane? Do I had to show them my North Carolina ID? Is there a way to book a Disney World trip with US Airways? One more thing. I am planning to go to Disney World for a Star Wars weekend and when is the best time to go to Disney World for the Star Wars Weekends? Thanks for your help!!! : ) I have never been to Disney World. Try a travel agent near you since you want disney world tickets and a hotel room. They can usually get you really good deals, you'll have to pay for everything seperatley otherwise. You always have to show ID before going through security at an airport, you CAN have a cell phone Ipod on a plane, weather they allow you to use them or not is up to the pilot. Im not sure about the lightsaber. 'And you can have pretty much anything, except explosives, duh, im your checked baggage, but they will most likely open your bag and check if you have the helmet in there, they always check my bag when I have a music box, or laptop. Hope that helped, Travel agents are really the best way to go.

This is a very easy answer that will hopefully provide you with some comfort. First, you will check in with US Airways only one time for each full leg of your trip. You will have the opportunity to actually check in on line on your home (or hotel) computer and print your two boarding passes/seat assignments up to 24 hour in advance of the departure time of your first flight each day. You can also set up your checked bags on line and prepay them, so you have no issues and long lines to deal with when you arrive at the airport to check in. BTW, if you don't have seat assignments yet, pull up your account on line and get them. If you have problems, call the toll free number for US Airways and ask for help When you check your bags at your originating airport, you will not see them again until you arrive at your destination. One important point: The bags, when checked, will have your two flight numbers on them. Make sure the flight numbers ARE CORRECT! You don't want your bags to end up in NYC while you are in Chicago... Enjoy your trip to my hometown!!
2 :
You will get your boarding pass for your connecting flights for the day. Once you check your bags in at Greenville, SC you will pick them up at your final destination. If you, check in online before you leave home & prepay for your bag or bags. You can even print your boarding pass for Tuesday if you would like to. Then, on your returning flight you will do the same thing. You should only have to go through security when you check-in & drop off your checked bag or bags.
3 :
when you check which you can do online you will issued all boarding passes for both flights as pay for your checking your luggage and when you arrive Charlotte you will not have go though security again but i do believe you will be on us airways express from greenville to Charlotte most us EXPRESS flights land in concourse e at at Charlotte and most mainliner flights for us airways depart out of concourse b its a long walk from concourse e to be i have done it myself
4 :
you will get 2 boarding pass when you check in and make sure when i landing and connecting another flight, check where your next flight is on the TV or screen that shown. plus Chicago is pretty big airport haha. :) good luck! have a safe flight.

I know a great site that is very competitive and most cases cheaper than other major sites. Compare the other guys with: http://AllAccess-Travel.com Good Luck!
2 :
southwest air is running summer flight specials....you can get a one way flight for 49 bucks if you book early!!!
3 :
Search for your flights on YTB Travel - Amazing Tours and Travel www.amazingtoursandtravel.com
4 :
Southwest doesn't serve GSP, ATL, CLT, any airport nearby. I searched from IAH and Hobby to GSP, CLT, and ATL, and also to AVL (Asheville), CAE (Columbia, SC), and AHN (Athens, Georgia) since these are all as close or closer than just Charlotte or Atlanta. For first week July, best available currently are $280rt total to Atlanta on Delta and Airtran. Next-cheapest city is Asheville at $312 total with USAir; CLT $346 USAir.

Connecting flight question

Connecting flight question?
I have flown before but never a connecting flight. I am going to Turks & Caicos in January. I fly from Ohare to Charlotte. and have 2 hours to catch the flight from Charlotte to Turks & Caicos. Is the 2 hours good enough time? I will have most my important stuff in my carry-on but do I get my checked bag in Charlotte and then recheck it or does the airline move it for us? It is all through US Airways. Also do you have all your flight tickets separate or are they all on one ticket? I just want to make sure I have something appropriate to carry the tickets and my passport, etc. Thanks a bunch. I have only flown 3 times and am still a rookie at it.

When you check in at O'Hare, the agent will print all of your boarding passes. Do not lose these! Since you are flying US Airways the entire time, your luggage will automatically be transferred to your final destination. 2 hours is plenty of time for a connecting flight in Charlotte. All you need to do in Charlotte is head for the gate for your next flight with your boarding pass. When you get to Turks & Caicos, you will then pick up your luggage. Hope this helps and have a good time!
2 :
Your luggage should be check right through to T&C as long as it is all one ticket. Tickets are either booked separately (so you would have to check in again at every stop) or all together (you just transit to a new gate at every stop). It is more than likely all on one ticket. 2 hours should be plenty of time to transit. Connections are auto uploaded by the airlines and the ensure that you have enough time to transit. If you miss the connection to T&C because the flight from Ohare leaves late, US airways is obligated to reprotect you on the next flight out.
3 :
Yes. 2 hours is sufficient for a connecting flight. Yes, US Airways will transfer your luggage for you.
4 :
1. Two hours is ample connection time in Charlotte; I've traveled through there before. Be sure to find out what gates you arrive in and depart from, so you know where you need to walk and how fast. If you arrive at gate B15, you can have a leisurely meal and drink if you depart from B16. However, if you depart from say E31 I would suggest walking directly there before anything else. See link #1 for airport map. 2. Check the bag in at O'Hare and pick it up at Turks & Caicos; the airline will transfer it for you. If you want to be certain, look at the baggage check tags the airline agent puts on your baggage. There will be a 3-letter code on it: the international code designating a specific airport. O'Hare is ORD, Charlotte is CLT, and Providenciales International on Turk is PLS. (See link #2 for all airport codes for Turks & Caicos airports.) Make sure the tag has the code of your final destination. 3. You should have an E-ticket itinerary that was e-mailed from the airlines; few airlines send you paper tickets any more. The check-in agent at O'Hare will give you boarding passes for both flights. I have a book cover I bought in Kiev for my passport; I just put the itinerary and boarding passes into my passport at the ID page, then put it all in a front pocket. You should be able to find such a book cover in a gift shop in the airport.

Flight connection time! HELP PLEASE

Flight connection time! HELP PLEASE!?
So my boyfriend is coming out to visit me and hes flying from Charlotte to Seattle but connecting through Newark... His flight from Charlotte to Newark lands at 7:30pm and his connecting flight leaves at 8:00pm.. which in retrospect only gives him about 10 minutes to connect or less because taxiing and what not... im super worried he wont make his flight and i have to drive to seattle to get him.. anyone know if thats enough time and if he does miss his flight will the airline pay for him to get the next flight to seattle?! Thank you!

I believe they will put him on the next AVAILABLE flight, meaning flight with seats available, which may not be the next flight Making travel arrangements with less than an hour between flights is just plain foolish, I won't do it.
2 :
It's been done before, but he has no time to chit chat and he better be going fast if his first flight is delayed by as little as 1 minute he should be put on a different flight free of charge, who booked this flight because they shouldn't have done that
3 :
When you look at the time for flight take off and landing, it appears to tell you the time it takes off and the time it lands. The time it lands is usually actually the time it arrives at the gate. The airline takes into account taxi time (which, by the way, rarely takes 20 minutes, even at large airports) so he should have enough time. If something happens, he'll just have to reschedule. That's unlikely to happen, though. 10minutes should be enough time if it is that, though, if he is willing to rush, maybe even run, through the airport.
4 :
Your boyfriend should actually have the full 30 minutes to make his connection. As mentioned already, the 7:30 p.m. arrival time is the time the aircraft is scheduled to pull into the gate, and the 8:00 p.m. departure time is the time the aircraft is scheduled to push back from the gate. The good news is that Continental's Newark hub is not too spread out, so your boyfriend shouldn't have to run too far to make his connection. The bad news is that if he is seated in the back of the plane on the Charlotte-Newark flight, it'll eat up a good 5-10 minutes before he's able to get off the plane...AND...Newark can get pretty ugly if any weather or ATC delays start screwing with the airport.
5 :
the 7;30pm means the time the plane arrives at the gate not the time the plane lands on the runway so he will have 1/2 hours i have connections like that and i only had 40 minutes my plane arrived at the gate at the schedule time and i made my connection.

Why not give Air Travelers free Amtrak tickets for the final leg of their journey

Why not give Air Travelers free Amtrak tickets for the final leg of their journey?
Charlotte is a major Air Hub with a 6 hour Amtrak ride to DC. I am sure a lot people would not mind a packed flight to Charlotte and a free overnight Amtrak ride to DC. All Aboard Night Train...

hmmm....good one....
2 :
Some airlines used to do this. Today there are so many direct flights to so many cities that it is no longer necessary. In this case, why go to Charlotte to get to DC when so many flights go directly to both major airports at Washington DC? Also, of course, it couldn't REALLY be free. You would have to pay for it along the line somewhere, which would jack the cost of the ticket up to a level where no one would buy it.

Can you skip certain flight connections

Can you skip certain flight connections?
I'm looking for a flight from Charlotte, NC to Sevilla, Spain that departs on May 31st and returns on June 21st. The cheapest flight I found is $680, but here's the itinerary: Depart Charlotte, land in Madrid. 9 hour layover, then connecting flight to Barcelona. 2 hour layover, then connecting flight to Sevilla. Can I just fly to Madrid and skip the flight to Barcelona? I could take a train or a bus to Sevilla. Would that affect my other flights? The return trip is Sevilla to Barcelona, Barcelona to Madrid, with an overnight layover in Madrid. The flight to Charlotte would be the morning after I arrive in Madrid, so the 22nd of June. Can I skip the first 2 flights and take the train again to Madrid and just catch the last leg of the flight? I've only flown a few times, all domestically, and I'm not sure how this works...

As soon as you miss any part of a ticket, the entire booking will be canceled.
2 :
You need to call the airline and ask. I believe your luggage will be taken off of the connecting flight and then you won't get the next one if you don't check in.
3 :
Don't do that. When you miss a connection, then ENTIRE rest of the ticket will be canceled - including the return portion. You will have tossed all that money down the drain in order to try to save a few dollars. Talk with a travel agent or with the airline to see what flights might work out best for you.
4 :
Longlive... is quite RIGHT! As soon as you MISS one leg of your itinerary ALL your itinerary is CANCELLED! And lost! Suggestion: From CLT try US to MAD only and then take your train.

indirect flight help

indirect flight help!!!?
i'm going to London from san francisco , but it is an indirect flight which will stop in charlotte and there is a 4 hours waiting between two flights(in Charlotte). I will fly with two different airlines .from San Francisco to Charlotte with US airways and Charlotte to london with KLM. I have never done a long flight before especially indirect.what happens to my luggage?..do i have to collect it in Charlotte and put it on the next flight or does the airline just put my luggage onto the next plane?do I need two different boarding pass?

1 :
you will definitely need two different boarding passes. I am not sure about the luggage because you are changing airlines, if it were the same one they would put it on the next plane for you.
2 :
Are you sure you're flying on KLM from Charlotte to London? The only airline that operates that route is US Airways. KLM does not serve Charlotte, but if they did, it would be a flight to Amsterdam. If you're flying nonstop from Charlotte to London, you will remain with US Airways, in which case you will not need to worry about your checked baggage as it will be checked all the way through to London. And you will need two different boarding passes because you will be on two separate flights, but both of those boarding passes will be issued to you in San Francisco when you check in. So you won't need to worry about that either.
3 :
The baggage SHOULD be transferred to your London flight in Charlotte. If the flight number changes between the time you book and the time you travel (that happened to me once), there's a chance that it won't make the connection.
4 :
Well...you obviously will need two separate boarding passes. Basically, when you are at the check-in desk of US Airways at San Francisco, you must ask them to 'through check-in' your baggage. What this will do is that, the airline will take your baggage at Charlotte and transfer it to your KLM flight. This will mean that you don't have to go all the way to the baggage belt at Charlotte. You will have to collect your baggage directly at London. Also, make sure that you take both the boarding passes at San Francisco itself..its all given to you. Im not very sure, but I think you will have to go through immigration or passport controlat Charlotte and not at San Francisco. This is because you will be leaving the country only after Charlotte. If its passport control, the your gate will be positioned is such a way that you have to go through passport control before reaching the gate. Don't worry, im 16 and travel long distance every year. Its cakewalk!!
5 :
YES, your bags will be checked all the way through. YES, you will have two boarding passes. It's that simple.

Transportation from Durham, NC to Charlotte Airport, NC

Transportation from Durham, NC to Charlotte Airport, NC?
Hello, We just moved to Durham and we have to take a flight in Charlotte and we are going to be gone for almost a month. So we were wondering if there is any kind of shuttle service that takes you from Durham, to Charlotte airport and back? If there isn̢۪t, what is the most convenient and fastest way to go from Durham to Charlotte Airport without taking the car? Thanks for your help!

When I lived in NC, I never heard of such a shuttle. You might be able to get a bus, change in Greensboro, then on to Charlotte. Not exactly fast or convenient. You're MUCH closer to 2 big airports. Raleigh & Greensboro. If you have to go through Charlotte, see if a friend can drive you.
