steps to a 1 stop flight..i'm new at this

steps to a 1 stop flight..i'm new at this?
I'm taking a flight to VA, and It's stopping in Charlotte. Once I get to Charlotte, do i have to get another boarding pass? I know that my luggage will be put on my next flight, so i don't have to worry about that...or will i get two when i get my boarding pass for my first flight? I just don't want to be confused or anything, and I've only flown a few times. Thanks!

You should receive both boarding passes at the first airport. Another method to get your boarding passes is to go on line 24 hours prior to your flight and check in and you can print your boarding passes at that time too.
2 :
Once you check in at the airport, you will receive boarding passes for both of your flights. Do not lose these! Once you get into Charlotte you only have to go to the gate for you next flight with your boarding pass. Your luggage will automatically be routed to your next flight. Hope this helps!

Tips for fear of flying

Tips for fear of flying?
I'm flying to Scotland on May 9th...and to make things worse, me and my friend have to make two connecting flights to get there (charlotte to chicago, chicago to london, and then finally london to glasgow ~_~;; ) I have a definite phobia of flying...and I've never been on a transatlantic flight before, so I'm especially nervous. I know statistically speaking flying is alot safer than being in a car...but that seems less convincing when there's only a few inches of metal between you and eternity ^^; Any tips would be appreciated.

You just have to be calm and all and probably take some medication when you are on the plane or something so it would make you tired.
2 :
compose urself friend, be with urself and try to feel that u r d best and flying is just a part of ur bravery...all d best mate. Turbulence can be uncomfortable, but is a normal part of flying People are often frightened by turbulence, because they don't understand what is happening. Nervous flyers are scared, as it seems that the plane is falling out of the sky. They focus on the downward bumps as these are the most apparent, but in fact each downward bump is followed by an upward bump. These bumps are actually caused by slight tipples in the air, which is normally perfectly smooth. Think of it in terms of bumps in the road. It doesn't take huge craters or bumps to make for a jerky ride in a car. It's the same with turbulence - small disturbances in the air can make a plane ride feel uncomfortable, but there's no real danger. The plane is designed, built and tested to rigorous safety levels Modern airplanes have to be designed and built to comply with rigorous safety standards which are set out by independent aviation authorities. Airplanes and their equipment are manufactured by systems also monitored by aviation authorities. Once built, they are then tested in flight before being given a final seal of approval. They are built to withstand many more stresses and strains than they will ever encounter in flight - the safety margins are enormous. Aircraft are intended to be in the air - it's what they were made for. Flying is routine Everyday, just under three million people fly safely all around the world. If you watch planes taking off and landing at your local airport, or look at the arrival and departure boards in the airport, you'll understand just how many flights operate safely each and everyday. Flying really is just routine. It happens all the time with no problems. The importance of thinking positively Think positively all the time. If you catch yourself dwelling on negative thoughts, stop and bring yourself back to the positive. Focus on what is happening in the present moment and not what could happen in the future. It can be easy to start imagining a disaster film scenario - make the effort to redirect your wild imagination somewhere more positive. Distract and occupy yourself by reading, doing a puzzle, listening to music or watching a film, or having a conversation. Tips to cope with feeling nervous When you are frightened, you breathe more quickly and your heart starts to beat faster. Try this exercise to calm yourself. Push your stomach outward and slowly taking a deep, long breath in through your nose, fill your lungs with air. Hold this breath for a moment, then let it out gradually. Do this once or twice when you are feeling nervous and you will start to feel better. This is a simple but effective technique for calming yourself down. Practice it whenever you feel tense and soon it will become easy and natural. Fear or panic itself cannot hurt you The sensation of fear is your body's way of telling you that it perceives a threat to your safety. It is a protection mechanism, preparing us for the "fight or flight" response, and will not do you any harm in itself. Once you understand that the threat poses you no danger, the feeling of fear will vanish. A panic attack will not lead to heart attack or a loss of consciousness.

I've never really had a true phobia of flying so I don't know exactly what it's like...but I'd say just get an aisle seat, bring gum to chew for the pressure and just watch movies the whole time to help you forget you're on a flight. I've been to the Chicago and London airports and the signs are usually marked well and all you have to do is ask someone for help and they're usually always more than willing to help. I've been to Scotland and it's beautiful...it's worth it...so just remember that and try to enjoy the flight. They'll serve you meals, have TV's on your seat and lots of radio stations so you shouldn't get bored. or you could just sleep...when I flew Chicago to London it was only like 7 hours...so it's not so bad. Good luck!
4 :
Hypnosis has proven to be an effective method. The hypnostist taps into your sub-concious which is where your phobia lies. The good thing about this technieque is while your are "under" the hypnosis is able to "test" whether or not you have overcome you fear of flying or not by simulating a flight. My only suggestion is you have a family member or friend in the room with you so he/she doesn't take advantage of you in this vulnerable state. And you seek a professional hypnostist that specializes in phobia's.
5 :
Just try not to think about it so much. Focus on what you will be doing once you reach your destination. And as the other person said try to sleep. Good luck, you'll be fine
6 :
Try closing your eyes and listening to your MP3, or just get yourself busy with something, try not to concentrate on what the plane is doing..
7 :
Its very simply when you get on the plan just know that there are about a hundred other people with you on the plane and look at there faces many of them have flown before and are very confident think about them how they feel and you will notice that you will slowly begin to loss your fear of flying.
8 :
Pre-occupy yourself with a lot of things like reading a magazine, book or watching movies on the plane or videos on your ipod.
9 :
try to get in the right mindset, keep thinking how safe it really is. Are you going on a safe airline? Everyday Millions and Millions of people travel on aircraft, and there's approximately one accident for every 13 BILLION Flights, compared to about 1 fatal accident for every 1000 different car trips.
10 :
Hey well yeah alot of people tell you to stay calm and be yourself but thats the only thing you can do. Once you've taken off there's no getting out thats what you need to get into you head. 2 weeks ago i came back from thailand 12 hour flight to heathrow everything went as it should safely. I live next to heathrow and i can see every plane that take's off and ive been living here for around 14 years and never saw any kind of accident, it just shows flying is the most safest way of travelling. You cant think everything is going to be alright..you know everythings going to be alright. Well i hope you get through ur flight without any problems. Thanks

Not take connecting flight what will happen

Not take connecting flight what will happen?
Okay, so I'm trying to go to Greenville, SC from Orlando, Fl but the tickets are too expensive to get that close so it's going to go to Atlanta instead which is over two hours from Greenville, the thing is the plane is stopping in Charlotte, NC first to change planes then go to Atlanta. However Charlotte is 1 hour and 40 mins away from Greenville so it's much closer than Atlanta. I tried just having the plane go from Orlando to Charlotte but it's more that way for some reason. So if I just bring a carry on and don't catch the flight to Atlanta and get off in Charlotte what would happen? Should I tell them? I heard you can lose your ticket back if you do this, but I think it's ridiculous they want to charge forty dollars more for the same flight.

As long as you don't check baggage ...you should be fine...They will delay a flight and remove luggage if you fail to show for a flight...Other than that...No you should not loose your ticket back..It's a separate ticket...Take Care Good Luck
2 :
You can do that. BUT... When you do not show up for the continuation flight of the booked itinerary - ALL remaining segments will be canceled. That means that if you have a round trip ticket, your ticket will no longer be valid when you want to return, and you will have to buy a one way ticket. Airline pricing is a bit of a mystery, and airlines do not like people to book a flight then get off part way to the destination. That's why they cancel the rest of the ticket - to prevent you from doing exactly that. Pay the extra money.
3 :
Yes, you will lose the return ticket. When you don't show up for one flight, all subsequent flights booked on that itinerary are canceled. Airline pricing can be odd, and it's hard to figure out the reasoning behind it.

Flight Question (staying in connector city)

Flight Question (staying in connector city)?
So I am going from Pittsburgh to Atlanta in a few weeks. One of my friends is driving from Charlotte to Atlanta. I was checking flights to both Char and ATL to see what was cheaper. The flight from Pitt to ATL was $256, while the flight from Pitt to Char was only $158. But the thing is the flight from Pitt to Char connects in ATL. What im asking is it possible to get the cheaper flight (Pitt-ATL-Char) but never fly from ATL-Char and just stay in ATL. I wouldnt be checking any bags. Thanks.

I wouldn't. If you do this, the airline can and will cancel your return leg back to PIT. You can pull this stunt on a one-way ticket, but not on a round trip.
2 :
sometimes making connections is cheaper then nonstop flight (also depends on the airline too) like I found flight from Lax- CLT (via dfw for $210.00 (on american) while US airways nonstop is double that )
3 :
Your return trip will definitely get cancelled. Delta uses Sabre for their reservation program. That doesn't mean anything to you, but it means a lot to us who work in the industry. Basically, when you don't show as checked in when the cut-off time is reached, then the computer system automatically cancels your trip. The only way to resurrect that reservation is to go to an agent or call Delta. They will charge you a lot more money in change fees to re-book another flight. Another thing to consider is the security measures. The second you get off in Atlanta and not board again, that will send a flag to your reservation and you could very well end up on the Selectee list for TSA. That means that the next time you fly, you can get selected for extra screening. Yeah, you'll save some money, but you'll get noticed doing it by someone or a computer program. I would just buy either just a one-way, or just a roundtrip that is a bit more expensive.

Friday I'm going to Arizona. The Grand Canyon area specifically?
What should I bring? What should I do? How hot will it be? and if anyone knows how long the drive is from phoenix, AZ to the grand canyon area let me know. Anyone Know how long the flight is from Charlotte, NC to Phoenix, AZ?

hey i live in AZ. yes it may be warm, and about 6 hrs from PHX. Bring binoculars! have fun. go to the south or north rim and the flight from KCLT to KPHX is about 5 hrs give or take with the head/tail winds. by the way, i think it may be warm because it is around 100 here in PHX right now!
2 :
It will be hot. Sunscreen, comfortable hiking shoes. Take the mule trip to the bottom. View it from different places. Just sit on the edge and ponder. Watch the sunset. Take a plane ride over if you can afford it. shorts and cool clothes.
3 :
the drive from phx to flagstaff is about an hour and a half to two hours (127 miles), and from flagstaff to the grand canyon is about an hour and a half (about 98 miles) you will need sunblock most importantly, you will need comfortable shoes and clothes, it should be roughly in the 80's and may rain on tuesday. bring lots of money, everything is very expensive (for example if you stop in tussyan a sausage mcmuffin will cost you about $5 each). you can explore the canyon from the top and go see the visitors center, if you go to the bottom it may be hotter. have fun and be careful, there are a number of places that do not have barriers between you and the canyon and people do fall in. it costs about $20 per car to get into the park and they say that you have to use the bus to get around inside (last time i went you could drive). have fun. almost forgot, if you forget anything, there is a walmart on your left as you are coming in to flagstaff, you can pick stuff up there. gas is expensive as hell here, over $3/gallon, but more expensive as you get closer to the canyon, so fill up asap.
4 :
As noted by others, it is about a 3.5 hour drive from Phoenix to the Grand Canyon south rim by way of I-17 and Flagstaff. The South Rim is about 6800 feet elevation and it is expected to be partly cloudy this weekend so rim temperatures will probably be in the 70s to low 80s. You can drive into the park (cost is $20 per car), but it gets really crowded in the summer and it can be hard to find a parking spot (not to mention the line to get into the park). Some of the overlooks (like Yaqi Point and Hermit's Rest) can only be accessed by shuttle bus while others (like Grandview) you can still drive to. If you have reservations at Maswick or Yavapai lodges, then you should have no problem finding parking. El Tovar, Bright Angel, Thunderbird and Kachina is more hit-n-miss (sometime you can find open spots hidden among the cabins to the left of Bright Angel Lodge). Things to see and do: Obviously there is the canyon itself. Try to get away from the most crowded spots near the lodges. Walking along any stretch of the rim trail between Bright Angel and Hermit's Rest is nice. Keep an eye out for the giant condors and the many smaller playful Ravens - both like to hang out along the rim near the lodges. Deer are also common. Sunset and sunrise are especially beautiful times to be near the rim. There is a regular shuttle bus from Bright Angel Lodge to Hermits Rest that is very handy and runs along the rim with stops at many overlooks at regular intervals so you can get on and off as you like (unlike the other shuttle that connects the lodges, visitor center and eastern overlooks and is slow and difficult to navigate). While looking at the canyon from the rim is nice, to really experience the canyon you need to get down inside of it a ways. I would not recommend trying to hike deep into the canyon during summer (it gets hotter the lower you go), but doing short hikes can be very rewarding. Depending on your level of fitness, I would recommend taking the Hermit's Trail down to Dripping Springs or the South Kaibab Trail as far as Cedar Ridge for good day hikes. You should be in good physical shape and always carry plenty of water. The rangers at the backcountry office near Maswick Lodge can give you good suggestions as well. You can sign up for mule rides into the canyon at Bright Angel Lodge, but it would probably be difficult to get last minute reservations on a popular weekend. Aside from the canyon, there are many very interesting historic buildings along the south rim that are worth visiting. Many of them were designed in the early part of the 20th Century by Mary E. J. Coulter who was an architect for Fred Harvey and the Santa Fe railroad. Hopi House is a large gift shop built in 1905 and shaped like Hopi indian pueblo. Across from it is the famous El Tovar - one of the grandest hotels in the whole National Park system. Hermit's Rest is another Colter creation to the west of the central area that is built of stone and intended to look like an old hermit's cave built into the cliff. A few miles to the east (near the eastern border of the park) is Desert View Watchtower (a three story tall tower built to look like a prehistoric Anasazi ruin). The layout of the canyon is different here (starts to open up to the east) so it is worth visiting. For food, I would avoid the overcrowded and low quality dining hall in the Bright Angel Lodge. My personal favorite is the Arizona Room Grill (kinda hidden on the east end of Bright Angel Lodge - excellent BBQ and steaks). Maswick has a good, fast, and relatively cheap cafeteria. El Tovar has a grand diningroom that is definitely worth eating at if you have the money and reservations. Things to see and do nearby: Flagstaff is a very interesting historic town in the mountains that you will pass through on your way to the canyon. It has a historic downtown area with old buildings and neat shops and cafes. The Museum of Northern Arizona (just north of town on your way to the canyon) is an excellent museum with lots of info about the area and there is also an interesting museum at Lowell Observatory overlooking the downtown area (this is where planet Pluto was discovered in 1930). The north rim of the Grand Canyon is also very nice in summer. It is at a higher elevation and is much cooler and less crowded than the south rim (there is only one small lodge there). However, it is much further away - about a 4-5 hour drive from Flagstaff. Staying at one of the lodges in the park near the rim is the best way to go by far, but you need to have had reservations long in advance (the odds of getting a room at the last moment are very low). If you don't have a room at the canyon, there is the collection of chain hotels at Tuysan (just outside the park boundry), but I would almost recommend staying in Flagstaff as an alternative. Don't forget to bring your camera, something to carry water in, comfortable shoes or hiking boots (regardless of if you plan to hike or not), sunscreen, a broad-brimed hat and a light sweater or jacket for night would not be bad. Relax, marvel, enjoy. It is one of the greatest places on earth.

Can airline pilots live in a different city from which they are based

Can airline pilots live in a different city from which they are based?
For example, if a pilot flies for United Airlines and is based out of Chicago, could he/she live in different city, say Charlotte, and commute from Charlotte to Chicago for their assigned flight?

1 :
Charlette where? the answer to you question is yes
2 :
I don't know about pilots for sure, but I know flight attendants can. They can fly for free or next to free, so she would just catch a commuter flight to her base. Of course, she flew international, not domestic, and that's an entirely different animal. Her flights were around 12 hours long, and she did one trip a week -- a flight out, spend a few days there, and a flight back. I think when she flew domestic she had to have an apartment in the base city, but several flight attendants shared one apartment since they were always coming and going.
3 :
Yes, pilots can live in another city. Pilots bid on their schedules and routes. So when they know they will be flying, they will fly to the city where they are based and stay at a crash pad. A crash pad is an apartment shared by up to 20 flight attendants/pilots together. They all just come and go when they in that city until they start flying. Commuting is a pain. Though you may only fly for three days during that week, you may spend up two extra days just commuting. They have to fly standby to get to their base city. All airline pilots can fly for free on all other domestic carriers. They do have some priority for the cockpit jumpseats should the cabin become full, but there's no guarantee. But you almost have to live in another city. Most base cities are Boston, New York, Chicago, Long Beach, Fort Lauderdale and many others. The cost of living is really expensive in most of those cities. So alot of them will live in cheaper cities and just hop on a flight the day before they start flying.
4 :
happens all the time!
5 :
Sure its actually pretty standard for the pilots not to live where they are based. The airlines have crash pads for the crew, etc... to stay at in the cities where they are based.

Should I sue

Should I sue?
I booked a trip on Expedia from Philadelphia to Charlotte. The flight was United but was operated by US Airways. The day before I left, I called US Airways to confirm the flight. The woman confirmed I was on both flights and assigned my seats. The next morning I went to a US Airways kiosk typed in my name and got my boarding. I flew to Charlotte. The next night when I went to return to Philly, I typed my name in the US Airways kiosk and nothing happened. The woman at the counter said they had no record of me and that the flight was fully booked. I called Expedia and when I got off the phone at 3am after 6 hours, I had learned that US Airways had no record that I was on the flight from Philly to Charlotte and had cancelled my return flight. They said if I had the boarding pass, they would give me a return flight. I had thrown the boarding pass out at my hotel. The next morning I had to search through the hotel's garbage and couldn't find it. I had to rent a car &drive for an extra $220

This happened to my brother on his flight from Frankfurt to the US. We caught this in advance (before he left) and they wouldn't tell us what the deal was. They told us that someone had canceled the ticket, but wouldn't say who. It seems that airlines are overbooking and there is some problem where tickets are being canceled. You can try suing, but you probably won't get anything. I would suggest that you always check before you leave to go somewhere.
2 :
Have you made a compaint to Expedia? If not, go to: http://www.expedia.com/daily/service/contact.asp?rfrr=-956
3 :
Happened to me on USairways, too. Night before my early morning flight, when I went to check in online, I found my reservation gone. I called the airline and they told me that I had called and cancelled it. I said no I did not. They said yes you did. (I was actually in a meeting during the time they said I called) There is something screwy with the USair computer system. They did scramble to find me another flight to get on. If I were you, I would just get the airline to give a refund for the whole ticket (both ways since they said you didn't fly at all).
4 :
You should have printed the confirmation you received from Expedia. If you can print the boarding pass, why not printing e-mail, confirmation of trips, etc. just in case a problem arise. I never leave without a printed confirmation to the airport. Also, you other proof is.....the Credit Card you use to pay to Expedia. Found out time, dollars paid, etc. etc. So, it is partially your fault by not being aware or ready when purchasing ANYTHING on line.
5 :
you MUST be american. lol. the only thing you can do is make a complaint with expedia. however it is your fault. it is a general rule that you keep your boarding pass with you. in case of trouble like this. Sueing is definitely not the answer, you will end up spending heaps on money and losing.
6 :
Good luck. If you sue, you need to prove you were on the outbound flight and the only way to do that is with the boarding pass you can't find. Otherwise, the airline can cancel your ticket for not taking the outbound flight.
7 :
You can't sue them. Without the boarding pass, there is no record you were on the Philly-Charlotte flight. When you purchased your ticket, you entered into a legally binding contract that gave the airline the right to cancel your reservation for the return flight if you missed any of the earlier flights in your itinerary. Their records show that you missed the first flight, and so they cancled your subsequent reservations. In order to sue them, you'd have to prove that's not what happened. Since you can't prove you were on the first flight, you can't sue them. For future reference, you should never throw out your boarding pass immediately after the flight. At the very least you should keep them until the end of your last flight on that intinerary. But it's best to keep them a while longer than that in case something comes up and you need to prove you were on the flight.
8 :
Moral of the story; always use a reputable travel agent. I had a similar incident with a reputable and well known Asian hotel booking site, and lost over 1000 UK pounds, through their double booking me. I could not get them to cough up any refund.

Can someone help me understand my flight itinerary please

Can someone help me understand my flight itinerary please?
I've never flown before first of all, and I don't understand what this says!!! Okay, here's the info: US Airways (operated by US Express/PSA Airlines) Flight 2250 1h 27m , 348mi From Cincinnati - N Kentucky Intl (CVG) Cincinnati, OH Departs: 3:40 P.M. To Charlotte - Douglas Intl (CLT) Charlotte, NC Arrives: 5:07 P.M. Aircraft Canadair Regional Jet 700 (Jet) Economy/Coach Class ________________________________________ US Airways Flight 1687 2h 1m , 622mi From Charlotte - Douglas Intl (CLT) Charlotte, NC Departs: 8:15 P.M. To Fort Lauderdale - Hollywood Intl (FLL) Fort Lauderdale, FL Arrives: 10:16 P.M. Aircraft Boeing 737-400 (Jet) Economy/Coach Class But then it says check in time is 3:40. So, how will that work? Check-In: Monday, August 24, 2009-03:00 PM Check-Out: Wednesday, August 26, 2009-12:00 PM thanks sorry, i meant to say check in time is for 3:00, not 3:40, but it still makes no sense why the check in time is only minutes after the first flight!
Air Travel - 4 Answers

1 :
Check in time should be 1.40PM at least 2 hours prior to flight. You are flying US Airways flight 2250. It will be a flight of 1hour and 27 minutes from Cincinnati Oh (actually airport is in Kentucky-go figure) and it departs at 3:40pm to Charlotte NC. The second leg of the trip is On US Airways flt 1687 2 hours 1 minutes from Charlotte NC to Fort Lauderdale FL and arrives at 10:16PM. Have a nice flight. Wear you seat belt whenever you are seated encase of bumpy ride.
2 :
You'll fly from Cincinnati to Charlotte, leaving OH at 340, and arriving in Charlotte at 507. Then you'll leave Charlotte on an 815 pm flight to Florida. Plan on eating dinner and spending some time in the airport while you wait for the flight. Get to the gate an hour to 45 minutes before the flight is scheduled to leave. You'll arrive in Florida at 1016, then you can head to your hotel and check in. I don't know what you mean about the check-in time of 340. Arrive at the airport 2 hours before your flight in Ohio. Make sure the hotel knows you'll be a "late arrival" so they don't give your room to someone else. Keep all your travel documents and ID handy, don't lose your boarding pass once you get it. Don't pack liquids or lighters/matches or anything sharp in your carry on or it will be confiscated at security. Put things like tweezers and nailclippers in your checked luggage. You'll be able to buy water once you pass through security. Wear comfortable shoes that you can slip off easily when you go through security. Make sure you bring your iPod and some books and magazines. When in doubt, ask, everyone is there to help you find your flight and make it a safe and comfortable experience.
3 :
Flight 2250 is the flight number. It's a way to help you find the gate number you will be boarding at, to check on the schedule of the flight and any other info you might need to find. - Same applies for returning flight 1687. Your first flight is going to be in the air for about 1 hour and 27 minutes once you take off from OH at 3:40 pm. Some flights take a few minutes longer or even a few minutes less depending on wind currents. Your flight home will take off at 8:15 pm from NC and will be in the air for about 2 hours and 1 minute. Most airports now a days require you to be at the airport 2 hours before your flight takes off. This allows you time to get through security without having to rush to get to you gate. So for your first flight you should be there by 1:40 pm. When it says Canadair Regional Jet 700 and Boeing 737-400 these are just the types of planes you will be on. They give the information so people can look at the plane before they fly. But you don't have to. Economy/Coach Class is just what it says. You will be flying in coach not Business or First Class. It's the most inexpensive seats but they're also the smallest with the least amount of leg room. Enjoy your first flight and have a safe one.
4 :
The fact that you have a check-in time and a check-out time tells me that you have a hotel reservation. 3 PM is the earliest that the hotel promises your room will be ready. You won't be there then, so you don't care. The check-out time of 12 PM (there actually is no such thing but we know they mean noon) is the time you must have checked out to avoid being charged for anoher day. Whether that affects you or not I have no idea, because you didn't give your return flight information.

If your flight has a connect flight in another state can you get off and leave from that state or have to fly

If your flight has a connect flight in another state can you get off and leave from that state or have to fly?
Heres my example. I want to fly from dallas tx to atlanta ga. My flight leaves dallas and goes to charlotte north carolina and i change planes there and then fly to atlanta ga. Im going to upstate sc so can i just get off in charlotte and can they give me my luggage and let me just leave from there so my family can pick me up at charlotte airport or do i have to get on the 2nd plane and fly to atlanta georgia. I will have 2 carry ons and one checked in bag. so i wander if they will off load my checked in luggage and let me get off in charlotte. (its alot cheaper to fly to atl ga then directly to charlotte? go figure)

you can ask them to ship you your luggage from that place to where you want to get off depending on your airline. and if your checked bag is small enough then you can just pay for a third carry-on (or two) and ya. or if you can't do any of those then you could always ship your checked bag from your house to where your family is (w/ usps ups) and then only bring your carryons onto the plane (genius =D)

you have to go altanta your luggage will for sure aslo if you dont show up for your connecting flight the ailrine May contact the police to start looking for you thinking you are lost (in fact i have heard that in some cases they have even closed down the airport lookimg for someone who (if pardon the expresiion jumped ship midstream) also if you have any return resveations you can kiss those reservations bye bye! eeven if you have tickets also if the airline gets wind of your plan they have ever right to charge the current fare DFW to CLT not a good idea
3 :
Sure, you can get off, but your luggage won't.
4 :
Bad idea all around. If you have a round trip ticket, and you do not board the connecting flight from Charlotte to Atlanta, then the airline will cancel the return portion of your reservation - and you will not get any kind of refund or credit for the cost of that flight segment. You would be better off changing your flight to go only from Dallas to Charlotte.
5 :
It might be as the Traffic to atlanta is less than to charlotte. If u request them kindly not to do a through check in of the luggage then it is possible, but u might be breaking a rule.I they do that then u can simply collect ur luggage and head off.

Hotels in Charlotte near airport

Hotels in Charlotte near airport?
I'm looking to stay in Charlotte in a couple weeks because of an early flight. What are good hotels near the airport, preferably that offer breakfast & internet for free. Don't want to stay in a dump, but it doesn't have to be first class either. Thanks!

Check out Disney's web site and it will give you info on the different hotels, schedules etc. We were there on a Star Wars weekend this summer and you need to be there very early if you want to get autographs.
2 :
You have asked this NUMEROUS times and the answer still does not change. But as a reminder. Star Wars Weekends are usually held on weekends in June. There is no official information on the dates until Late Winter and exact guest appearance may not be announced until Late Spring a few weeks before the appearance. No one will have any additional information until then. You obviously have access to a computer. The best thing to do for a ball park figure is go to the Walt Disney World Travel site and select any of the weekends in June as your travel dates. This site also gives you the opportunity to select the flights and other options. Another option would be to go with your dad to the book store and pick up a couple of books on Walt Disney World. Most major book stores will have an entire section on WDW.
3 :
Try this website http://www.disboards.com/index.php You can ask as many questions as you want and they'll answer them all because everyone there is obsessed and knows everything about DL. Some of the people there go weekly.
4 :
How many times are you going to ask this? You have asked it before under this name and you used to ask this identical question under another name. The answer does not change. Star Wars Weekends have historically been held in June, although the official dates won't be announced for several more months. They have not announced who will be there yet, either. You can go on Disney's website and play with their vacation builder to get a price quote. There are different levels of hotels, and without knowing how much/little you want to spend and how many days you will be staying, I cannot tell you how much it will cost.
5 :
Hi, check out the website orlando4holidays.com for rental homes for your stay. It would be cheaper than a hotel for you and your dad. Good luck.
6 :
Have your dad call 407-WDW-Disney for information. Check out www.disneyworld.com and request a planning dvd. Have fun on your trip to WDW!

What time is the earliest fairy on Sunday from Cruz Bay, St. John to Charlotte, St. Thomas

What time is the earliest fairy on Sunday from Cruz Bay, St. John to Charlotte, St. Thomas?
I'm staying in St. John for the week, scheduled to depart on a sunday morning. I want to be able to make sure I can get on the fairy early enough to make my flight out of St. Thomas. yeah, ferry, whatever.

Leaving Cruz Bay, St. John Hourly from 6:00 am to 11:00 pm
2 :
I don't know about the Fairy, but the ferry leaves St. John at 7:45, 9:45 and 11:45 am daily.
3 :
The fairys leave quite early in the morning (the first one). When you get down to St. John ask the people at the hotel you are staying at for the phone number to the fairy service. They will be able to give you the current schedule. I had to do the same thing once (I was staying in St. Thomas but I had an apointment on St. John) and the listing online was incorrect. I almost missed the fairy, and I found out that they are all independant and durring the week they keep to a pretty firm schedule, however on the weekends they do not follow it as closley as they want to make sure that anyone that is a tourist can get on there (they make most of their money from tourism). If you are staying for the week, you will have plenty of time to check this out. I suggest that you take some time on St. Thomas as well, it is a beautiful island, in fact it is my fav. (ok I got engaged on the island so maybe I am a bit partial) and they have alot to offer you. The ride from the fairy to the air port should be about 30 min (once you get to St. Thomas) so you may want to have someone give you a bit of a ride in that general area so you can map out your time and do a bit of shopping. If you plan on buying jewlery make sure to buy it on St. Thomas the prices are much cheeper there than in St. John. Ive been there several times now and love it... good luck and have fun.

check on line at disneyworld...or start looking on orbitz..expedia etc...just call them for info...to make sure you have to and fro transportation....many hotels offer discount for disney....depending on how long you are staying orlando has alot to officer...universal studios....sea world(shouldn't miss)...the is a drive thru animal park by tampa which is fun....
2 :
Why do you continue to post the same question over and over?
3 :
I, too, have answered you before. Did you check out any of the suggestions I gave you? Do you know where a bookstore is? Did you check Travelocity or other sites? The dates for Star Wars Weekends are here: http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/wdw/parks/specialEvents?id=StarWarsWeekendsSpecialEventPage&bhcp=1 The official dates have not yet been confirmed. Getting a deal on a package of any kind is time-consuming. You have to do the research; we can't do it for you. In general, plane tickets cost less if you 1) stay over a Saturday and 2) fly at off peak times, like a Tuesday. The best time to go, IMO, is in October. So the best time for you to go will obviously be during Star Wars weekends. What hotel do you want to stay in? Onsite or offsite? Are you going to need a rental car? How long are you going to stay? It seems to me that you need a travel agent to help you with these questions. Small World Vacations is an online choice; KingdomKonsultant.com is another. I imagine there are also some in Charlotte that you could go to. Costume concerns: You cannot wear a costume that conceals your face. I would imagine so long as your lightsaber is not an actual laser, you would be allowed to keep it in its bag on the plane. Should you plan it this week: When you decide to go to WDW, you should put all your plans together as quickly as possible. That way you don't get shut out of hotels and places you would like to eat.

well. we went to Disney World in November and they said that was the best time to go b/c there werent a ton of people there and it wasnt too hot. it was nice, like...70s-80s. If your wanting to know which parks are what. Here is some ideas. Magic Kingdom - great for little kids... 3-12 lots of princesses and princes and characters!! Even has Cinderella Castle that you can go into and get all dressed up like a princess and they do your hair andgive you a dress. Animal Kingdom - lots of animals. kinda like the zoo. Epcot - great learning one. lots of educational things to do. MGM - lots of movie sets. feels like you are in a movie and great rides!! you have to do these rides... Tower of Terror - MGM Soarin - Epcot Test Track - Epcot Expedition Everest - Animal Kingdom There is also a thing called a 'Fast Pass' you let the machine take your cards and them the Fast Pass comes out and it will tell you what time to come back to that ride. It is completly free!! anyone can get them and you get to "budge" the other people in line. I would get the Fast Pass on "Soarin" and "Test Track"
5 :
try here too:
6 :
Go to mousesavers.com and allears.net. Also go to lastminutetravel.com I just came back from disneyworld and saved a lot of money on tickets and hotels from these sites. If you need a rental car go to Payless.com
7 :
orbitz, expedia, travelocity, etc all charge fees - just like any travel agent will. Go straight to the source for the best deals - www.disney.com/travel! They list "Wonderful Weeks of Disney" which are low crowd times with special offers / better prices. All of their special events are listed on the site too, so you can verify Star Wars Weekend dates (Luke, Leia, R2-D2, and Darth Vader are now in the daily parade at MGM - or rather, Hollywood Studios.) Don't forget to take advantage of the dining plan! I love ALL of the parks - they are each a different Disney experience! Btw - my favorite Jedi is the Jedi master, of course! YODA!

It really depends on the experience you want. All of the on site RESORTS (these are far from your typical hotel/motel my dear) are amazing and DO NOT disappoint! BUT, it's all about what you want. Check out the websites, view & tour the resorts, get pricing & make reservations right online http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/ Ticket prices vary on what parks you want to visit. Disney is made up of several different parks and each carries its own ticket price. You can also purchase a ticket that allows access to all parks. It really depends on what you want to spend. The resort prices are reasonable when you consider all the perks included but can cause the overall expense to skyrocket! You may want to consider finding alternative lodging to allow additional money for other aspects of your trip. Try these websites for lodging alternatives: www.hotwire.com www.hotels.com www.expedia.com Best of Luck! And enjoy! Disney is a BLAST!!
2 :
Well the value resorts you will be looking at are the allstar sports, pop century and allstar movies. Rates start at 82 a night. Here's the link they say they can get you a package and work with in your budget so give it a try.http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/hotels/?facetNameng:hasResortCategoryFacet=facetValueng:value Oh and some of the hotels that surround disneyworld offer free transportation to the parks. So look around, there is a good way to save money on the hotel.
3 :
hotel-all star resorts and pop Century cheap ticket try online than the park is more money i dont think so since it is a "weapon"
4 :
when I went my friend and I went to a time share promotion spent the morning there and go free tickests for 4 parks.. try it!!!!.if you can spare a morning or afternoon of your time its well worth it, there are many time share promotions there as you will see when you go..hope this helps
5 :
OK, first, there are NO CHEAP DISNEY TICKETS on the web or anywhere else. If someone offers you cheap Disney tickets, beware! Disney now links your fingerprint to your ticket, and the tickets are non-transferrable. The least expensive way to see the World is a basic ticket, but if you're only there for a little while, the parkhopper option is wonderful. You can skip the water parks and save some money there. Second, explore Disney World's website at http://www.disneyworld.com for the "official" information. Then, once you've been through all that, go to http://www.allearsnet.com for exhaustive information, both official and behind-the-scenes. Be sure you sign up for their newsletter. As to the best on-site Disney World hotel: if you're looking for cheap, you have two options. One is the value resort option, of which Pop Century is the newest. Second is, if you're the camping type, pack up a small tent, a couple of sleeping bags and inflatable pillows and head for Disney's Fort Wilderness campground. It's a wonderful campground with so much to do that there are people who stay there and never go to the parks! Have a great trip and, again, be careful of those "cheap" Disney tickets!
6 :
Ok, you have posted this same question about a dozen times over the last few months under different user names. Are you just joking, or what? Anyway, there are no cheap legitimate Disney tickets. Why don't you go to a travel agent and get some help, since you seem to be having such a hard time with it? Also, you'll have to check with the airline you go with to see if they will allow a light saber in a carry-on.
7 :
Ok, NC person to NC person - Cheap and flights don't mesh right now. We are going in June via Amtrak as no cheap flights out there. If you must fly check airtran out of Charlotte, Southwest out of Raleigh and Allegiant out of Greensboro but they have very limited days and only fly into Sanford so you have to add ground transport to Disney as Magic Express does not serve the Sanford airport. There are NO cheap Disney tickets that are legit. Have heard of going to a time share presentation and getting a free pass, but who want's to waste part of their vacation, deal with the hassel for 1 day pass. Disney is cracking down on ebay etc. tickets as you are fingerprinted to your ticket and most expire within 14 days of first use for multi-day tickets. The more days you buy for from Disney the lower the per day amount. On site the bargains will be the value hotels, moderates to me are worth the extra money as we do lounge around a day or 2. But if it's just for a place to sleep go with the value resorts. Go to the disney web site and brouse around or order their free DVD for planning. Depending upon your light saper, probably not a carry on and may be questions with checked baggage. (Remember most charge extra for that now so calculate that in your air fare.) My son has a collectable sabre with a floresent tube - Checked Only and then it is fragile so I would never carry it. You may want to pre-ship to your hotel via UPS or Fed Ex and schedule it to arrive the day you check in. Then ship it home afterwards if you just have to carry it. Have fun!
8 :
There is no cheap tickets to the Disney parks. You pay the price on the disney web site. There is many scams (tickets that are fakes and no good) out there for disney park tickets. only buy on line at the disney web site. The disney value resorts are the cheapest. look on the disney web site for them. going to disney is expensive. the ticket prices are a lot and you should buy them only from disney. the value resorts are going to be the best deal for you. staying at a disney resort will give you free transportation to and from the airport (this can run $$) and free buses to all the disney parks. Go to the disney web site. Yes you can bring your light saber, many people had them last year. I would bring one that can retract.
9 :
Lets tackle one thing at a time. TICKETS: Do not buy cheap tickets. Buy them directly from Disney. Tickets expire 14 days from their first use unless there is a "no expiration" option on them. And, tickets are linked to their true owners by fingerprint scans... so, tickets off ebay or someplace like that are 1) likely expired and 2) will not work because your fingerprint will not match the one that is coded to work with that ticket. 2 adult - 2 day base tickets = $298 LODGING: There are many options. If you want to do this Disney vacation as cheaply as possible then stay at Pop Century or one of the All-Star Resorts. They start at $82 a night, but are more during busy times (like Star Wars weekends). For 3 nights in the middle of June your resort will cost $458.00 So, not including airfare, food or souveniers your Disney vacation will cost you $756.00. * * * Just so you know! You can't book vacations for next year yet! They are only allowing vacations up to and including December 31st! But, F.Y.I. Star Wars weekends are usually in May and June! That's why I picked the middle of June for the hotel prices!
10 :
If you're planning to go to Disney World I would suggest Disney's Pop Century Resort. It is only about $82 per night and they give your transportation around the Walt Disney World Resort and to your hotel from Orlando International Airport free. Here is Pop Century's Website: http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/wdw/res... Here are benefits of staying on Disney Property: http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/wdw/res...

WE'RE ON WAY TO MYRTLE BEACH (from Pittsburgh) ON SATURDAY. SHOULD I CONNECT THRU WASHINGTON DC OR CHARLOTTE

WE'RE ON WAY TO MYRTLE BEACH (from Pittsburgh) ON SATURDAY. SHOULD I CONNECT THRU WASHINGTON DC OR CHARLOTTE?
Right now, with Hanna spinning around out there, I'm considering changing my airline reservations. Right now I'm connecting through Washington DC on Saturday morning (will the hurricane detain me there?) or should I change my reservations and connect through Charlotte? (more inland .. and further south)? I hate the idea of being stuck in the airport but the question is, which one would be the better of the two evils? Any ideas? I'm flying United Airlines but the Charlotte connector is a USAir flight.

when buying a airline ticket on the internet.....???
i got a airline ticket on travelocity.com. i was looking for a flight nonstop from charlotte, nc to boston, ma. but i couldn't find one. I found one but it stops in baltimore. and i saw others that said CHANGE PLANES.. My question is that if it said STOP is just a stop..or do i still need to change the plane??

If it says change planes, then and only then will you change planes. If it says stop it means just stop. It's just to refuel the plane and such.
2 :
you don't need to change planes but you will probably have to deplane and get back on with some new people getting on at baltimore. it just means the two legs have the same flight number. By the way, i don't know if you already tried this, but i'd have gone directly to the usairways website. charlotte is one of usair's hubs, and they do have nonstops to boston.

Question about a connecting flight

Question about a connecting flight.?
I'm flying back from St. Maarten to New Orleans next month. However, US Air wants a staggering amount of money for the tickets. They have a connection through Charlotte and only that one flight a day. I was looking on JetBlue's website and they have a flight through JFK that I can take to catch up with a late night New Orleans flight. However, the JetBlue flights are what the agent said a "published connection." If I make two one way listings, I still would come out cheaper on JetBlue. I would have an hour to make that connection in JFK. Is it a good idea? Would I have enough time with an hour?
Air Travel - 3 Answers
Random Answers, Critics, Comments, Opinions :
1 :
Take the published connection. JetBlue is an awesome airline, however, you will be landing in terminal 4 in JFK. From there you would have to go through customs control and then baggage claim. After that, you would have to take the air train in JFK to their new terminal 5 and then check in for your domestic flight to New Orleans. You would miss that connecting flight and you would be stuck in New York for the night. Just take the US Air flight. If it's a published connection, then it gets you in to CLT with ample time to make all necessary connections. Also one more note I'd like to point out about taking a non-published connection is that your bags are not promised to follow you if you try to check them all the way from SXM-MSY
2 :
No because if you dont make the 22nd flight, you are out of luck. If it was a normal connection and you miss it, the airline will rebook you. Or---Maybe book the two seperate flights 24 hours apart and use the savings for a free day in NY. And give yourself a 24 hour extension on the vacation. Will that work?
3 :
Absolutely, as long as you can save money and get to your destination within reasonable time, you should do it. It's a much better option than U.S Airways which is, I don't know why, a very expensive airline.

I suggest you go online and try www.hotwire.com. The fare is really affordable but it can't be change or cancel with a refund nor a credit for another flight.
2 :
Southwest usually has the lowest rates compared to other airlines. I would suggest calling them directly. You can check websites that offer lower rates, but I have had several experiences where when calling the airline they would give cheaper prices than the online so-called "low airfare finders"
3 :
Unfortunately, Southwest serve neither Charlotte or Cancun. Try http://www.farecompare.com/search/year.html?departure=CLT&destination=CUN&p=1 and http://www.cheapflights.com/flights/Cancun/Charlotte-Douglas-Intl/
4 :
Try the following: "Amazing Tours and Travel" It is part of the YTB travel network. I use it all the time because of the great deals. Good luck and have a great day.
5 :
You can try cheapoair.com you might land up with some real cheap fares.... They also comes with the Low Fare Guarantee All the best... pal

When is the most affordable time of year to travel to Europe (flight and hotel-wise)

When is the most affordable time of year to travel to Europe (flight and hotel-wise)?
I'll be leaving from the SE United States. I think Charlotte, NC is about the cheapest airport to leave from. I haven't decided where in Europe i want to go, but iwas thinking Germany....nothing is definite.
Other - Europe - 5 Answers
Random Answers, Critics, Comments, Opinions :
1 :
Off season time
2 :
If you are travelling to Germany - you will want to visit 'off season' - but depending on where you want to go depends on when 'off season' is... Typically flights are less expensive from March-May... but you will need to do some research & I would recommend figuring out where you want to go (as Germany is a huge country & there is a lot of variety in what to see). We live in the Rheinland-Pfalz state & have many great things to see (castles, vinyards, old medieval/Roman towns) - but some things aren't open during certain months or have more limited hours. If you travel to Bavaria (in the south), ski season is from late October - March (sometimes April). Some major airports in Germany: Frankfurt, Berlin, Cologne (Koln), Munich. Good Luck!
3 :
This depends on where and exactly when you want to go to some extent. In general, tickets are cheaper until about the third week in March and then prices start to go up. I fly back to the US at the end of February for a few days every year, and that's always my cheapest trip back. August and Christmas are peak travel times, so the prices are somewhat higher. You might look at flying into Amsterdam; it's often cheaper than flying in and out of Germany. Once you're in Europe, there are good rail connections and lots of budget airlines to go point-to-point.
4 :
well the cheapest will be in the winter time, cuz noone really likes to ravel t europe in the winter, at least i dont. In the summer time it's ridiculously expensive...
5 :
Forget about flying from Charlotte. You'll likely need to leave from Atlanta or Washington, DC. Or talk to a travel agent - maybe you can get a flight from Charlotte to Germany that goes via New York. Roundtrips to Europe from Washington start at 600 USD, Atlanta should be around 700 to 800 USD (all prices are total, including taxes). Check out Lufthansa, LTU, Condor, Zoom, etc. From Atlanta look into flying to Stuttgart, from New York fly to Frankfurt or London, LTU typically flies to Duesseldorf which is in the Rhine-Ruhr Area and close to Cologne. There are no intercontinental flights to Berlin, going to Berlin by plane would require you to change either in Frankfurt or London. January and March are low season for flights across the Atlantic, November and early December can be good value too if you avoid the Thanksgiving crowds. Book either at least 2 months in advance or hop on a last-minute special. Spring (May) and fall can also be good times to go. Talk to a travel agent about getting tickets to Germany from NC for under 700 USD including taxes. Have them alert you when they can sell you such tickets, buy them and go! Cost of a typical cheap-cheap trip (staying at hostels, eating food from the supermarkets) is around 50 EUR per day and person (roughly 75 USD) in most parts of Western Europe. There is no change, whether you go in summer or winter. Hostels might have winter special rates, but this slight advantage is set off by the fact that many outdoor activities like cycling are impossible or outdoor attractions like parks are closed. If you go in winter, avoid the winter skiing resorts or typical winter destinations like Austria and Switzerland.

Even with trip insurance, your money won't be refundable. Your chances of getting swine flu are probably greater going grocery shopping at your local store. Think of who may have had used the cart before you. Someone picking up their kid from daycare, putting him in the seat and him holding the bar on the cart. After he has been in a room with 20 other kids all day.
2 :
I don't think the Swine flu is prominent in any certain part of the country. The best thing to do is carry on with your normal life, but make sure you pay extra attention to hand washing, coughing and sneezing into your sleeve, etc. You basically have the same chance of getting it or not getting it anywhere you go, so you may as well enjoy yourself in Vegas. Today's Las Vegas Sun reports that no Swine Flu has been found in Nevada. http://lasvegassun.com/news/2009/apr/26/no-reports-swine-flu-nevada/
3 :
Why because ONE toddler died from this? This is media hype. Even if you do catch it, its not worse then the typical flu to most healthy adults. And I dont even think there is one reported case in Vegas anyway. Ivgeno-- I could not agree more. Joe Biden did a very foolish thing. He is just lucky that most people did not listen to him lol. Telling people not to travel in the middle of recession.. what a joke.
4 :
I would not worry about it. I believe the media is making too big of deal. If you are healthy and want to go then go and have fun. Good Luck!!!
5 :
You would be silly to cancel. The swine flu is just something for the news media to get excited about. More people die each year from the regular strain of flu, I think they said 33,000 Americans each year. Think about it. You could get the flu anywhere. That idiot of a vice president joe biden is just that, an idiot. I won't even put his name in capital letters. Thank goodness his boss sat him down and read him the riot act. OMG. Another Spiro Agnew. LOL Besides the flu strain love colder weather and not hot like it is here. You will be less likely to catch it here than up north.
6 :
well i'm flying from boston to buffalo this weekend and i dont plan on canceling my trip..take that for what its worth
7 :
Dont be paranoid. Its a flu. Its not Ebola. Its not AIDS. Its not Bubonic Plaque. Its a fricken flu. Why would you change your plans over a flu bug? Honestly.
8 :
& that toddler was not from Texas either. Visiting here from Mexico.

Won't make any difference. There are so many diseases already in the world. What is one more?

Try looking on Craigslist...look under Rideshare, under Community. Also, post your own message there too.

Not sure how much it would cost, but you can take a train. Amtrak definitely goes to Washington, DC, and they may have a connecting train to Charlotte.

One thing to remember is everyone has a different idea on what is "cheap".....and many of those well-known "major" travel sites are owned by the same company, which means normally not much differences in their prices. And the problem with just checking those sites only, is you might miss out on great deals that may be available on another travel site! You have to think of these online travel sites like grocery stores or gas stations - they all sell the same thing, the only difference is their price. SO - Why pay more for the same thing the other guys are selling??? I suggest trying this online travel site to see if they any deals available: www.everydaytravelconnections.com Hope this helps!

Can I connect on one flight, but not on the other when buying a roundtrip ticket

Can I connect on one flight, but not on the other when buying a roundtrip ticket?
I'm from Ontario, Canada and going to visit my friend who lives in South Carolina this summer. She's probably going to be at a beach when I arrive (she wants me to be at the beach with her) so what we planned to do to save her gas money is for me to get a connecting flight to Charleston, SC, which is where the beach is. But after a few days, she is going to drive back to the city she lives in and we're going to spend the rest of our time there. While looking at the plane tickets online, a lot of the flights to Charleston connect in Charlotte, NC, and her hometown is actually closer to Charlotte. So would it work if on the way there I connected and went to Charleston, but on the way back didn't connect and just flew directly from Charlotte back to Toronto where I live? I could always buy 2 separate tickets but that is more expensive and if my friend just drove to Charlotte for me to fly home then I still have a ticket I paid for, I don't see the difference. Would this not be allowed or would my flight not be valid, or could I do this?

Check with the airline. They probably won't let you check in at Charlotte on the return trip unless you pay a fee for changing your booking. However you might be able to buy an "open jaw" ticket that covers your journey and is cheaper than 2 separate tickets.
2 :
PQR Theorist is right. If you miss the first flight, the airline will cancel the remaining leg of the flight. People used to do this to take advantage of cheaper fares to take advantage of some special rates on flights. To book an open jaw ticket, you use the multiple destinations choice rather than round-trip or one-way. Multiple destinations is the name on Expedia http://www.expedia.com/default.asp ; Kayak http://www.kayak.com/flights calls the option Multi-city - other sites may have other names, but it's a common option. In any event, this allows you to set up a single booking to fly from Toronto to Charleston and then from Charlotte to Toronto.

I spent most my money shopping instead of paying rent

I spent most my money shopping instead of paying rent?
I am late on my rent I live with my sister well I also lost my job I which is at the mall. I went up there and cashed my check and while walking I spent 60 dollars out of it and I only made $88 eh I was beating my self up on the way home especially because I have been so broke lately and have went without food and I do that yea i'll look cute while being broke but my sister has already threatened to kick me out on top of that I am suppose to come up with money for a flight to Charlotte because im moving there before the 23rd and I wont have another check for two weeks. what the hell is wrong with me and why did I do that my priorities are so out of whack I took the close back I did keep one shirt though, but I feel a little better because I have some money in my pocket for my rent I did kick my self in the A** on the way home and even harder on the way there to return them.

The best definition I've seen of addiction is "doing a behavior to the detriment of the rest of your life." Eating is not an addiction until you do it too much. We need to shop...except when shopping is the goal to the exclusion of paying for the necessities. Take the clothes back. And put yourself on a "no unnecessary shopping" regimen. Get out of the mentality that you should treat yourself or look cute, and get into the mentality that you need to take care of business first. I'm guessing that after losing your job, you're down and depressed, and that you were trying to cheer yourself up. It didn't work... because the action you took to cheer yourself up caused more problems. You know your priorities are off... now it's time to get them back in line. You're letting your whims rule... you need to be in charge, not just a passenger in your own brain.

We went last June for SW weekend. If you want the SW stars authograph, you must get a Fast Pass. This is for the SW weekend-saturday and sunday only, not during the week days... Get to the park before the gates open. Go immediately to the SW ride. You will find Cast members making lines for EACH star that is going to be there that day. Have you dad stand in one line, you stand in another. You will reach the FP machine, it will give you a ticket with a time on it, You come back at that time, wait in line, and you will get to meet the star and get an autograph. With out the FP NO autograph. Sorry to say, but if there are more than two stars I doubt you will be able to get a FP for more than two. Once you are in line, the FP go quick and there just isn't time to go to a thrid line and wait. FP will be gone by then. They have their photos to sign for you. But my son brought a SW figure in its blister pack and "Chewie" signed it for him. There are SW posters you can buy. Some fans had each star sign the poster. The SW stars are only there on the weekend. There are special Disney pins out for each weekend too. They go fast. There will be a speical SW store- Last year it was called Wickets (Warwick Davis was there the whole month) it will have a ton of SW stuff, some just for Disney, start saving your money now! There will be tons of SW characters (disney cast members dressed up as SW) and yes you can have your photo taken with them. We got a stromtrooper, darth vader, young Anakin , Boba Fett, and ones from the new SW on TV. There is a great SW parade . It is great. One the weekends the SW stars who are there are in it. Make sure to stay in disney at a disney resort. We love the Animal Kingdom lodge. You can see the animals right at the resort. but this is a higher priced resort. they should be posting soon who is going to be there from SW for 2009. Don't count on the really big stars showing up. last year is was Chewie, Wicket, Gen. Grevious. (ah don't remember the rest) so don't think Obi Wan or Anakin would be one of the guest stars there. Yes you can dress up. But realize it is going to be 90 degrees outside in FL in June. I suggest bring SW t-shirts and shorts.

http://www.streetdirectory.com/travel_guide/12178/disney_travel/planning_a_cheap_trip_to_disney_world.html go to that website and there is lots of information for inexpesive trips The first trick for the savvy Disney vacationer is to check on e-bay three weeks before the trip looking for park tickets. Never buy single day single park tickets. The park-hopper ticket is the way to go. This ticket will allow you change parks during the days of your vacation. You can leave one park and go to another to avoid the crowds. Get to the parks early in the day. Most families like to sleep in and enjoy a late breakfast. So even with the parks opening early in the day they are relatively empty first thing in the morning. Ride the park rides at the back of the park first. It may take a while to walk into the park but most other patrons stop at the first rides and ride those. As the park starts to fill they move to the back rides. Utilize this time to enjoy some of the popular rides at the back of the park and save your fastpass tickets. At the start of the day do not grab fast pass tickets, wait until the park starts to see more traffic. You need to be aware that there is a time limit on the frequency that you can grab a fast pass ticket. So you cannot obtain another fast pass ticket until the designated time, this time will be on your fast pass ticket. Use these sparingly to pick the choice rides. While you are waiting on your fast pass ticket time enjoy other areas of the parks. When you have to opportunity to pick up your next fast pass then do so immediately. Only at this point can you use the original ticket. Make sure that you carry a backpack with you into the park. This pack will serve you well during the day. You should pack in water, and drinks in amounts that are comfortable to carry. This will save you dearly during the day. The cost of drinks and supplies inside the park walls is extravagant. http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/wdw/index you can order a free cd directly from them to plan your trip www.cheapoair.com get information about booking the trip in advance. they have the best prices

Best way to go through Airports

Best way to go through Airports?
I am flying alone for the first time in my life on Friday. I just want to know like what exactly getting on a plane entails, step by step. I'm going to the Newark Airport and I have a connecting flight from Charlotte, and finally ending up in Atlanta. I only have one bag, but in that bag is a wrapped jewelery box (late Christmas gift) and I was wondering if security would have problems with that (I'm also bringing a stuffed animal...which shouldn't be a problem)... Also, what should I bring...not bring? etc. Any information/tips/advice someone could give me would be appreciated greatly.

Please note that by entering an airport you have given your consent for the UNCONSTITUTIONAL TSA to search you and indeed remove ANYTHING from either your checked or carry-on baggage and you have NO say in the matter at all, they will probably unwrap the gift item you are carrying and inspect the contents. Note that we would not have TSA at all except for the MYTH that 19 suicidal hijackers took control of 4 commercial airliners and crashed 3 of them into buildings. This is a MYTH .... get a CLUE AMERICA! Arrest the emperor for INDECENT EXPOSURE!
2 :
First, you need to check in. If you only have a carry-on bag, you can check-in online and print your boarding pass yourself. This saves you time at the airport. If you plan to check-in a bag, allow extra time at the airport, check in at the counter of your airline, where you will drop off your bag, will receive a tag to track the bag (in case it gets lost) and where you can also get your boarding pass. It goes without saying that you should not check-in very valuable items. Bags do get lost or damaged occasionally, and the airlines only cover damages up to certain limits. So, take the jewelry with you on board. After checking in, you go to the security check-point. On most airports, there is some pre-screening where they will check your boarding pass and possibly your id, i.e. driver's license. At the security checkpoint, you will have to put all your bags on belt running through an x-ray machine, as well as shoes and jacket. Laptops also have to be put on the belt separately. There are limitations about liquids, etc. See the link below for details. Then you walk through the scanner yourself; make sure that you have no metal like coins or cell phones in your pockets, they will set off the scanner. In a few cases they may decide to search you more closely, which may include patting you down and/or opening your bags. After that, you walk to your departure gate. Up-to-date gate information will be displayed on monitors in many places inside of the airport. About 30 minutes before departure, boarding of the plane will begin. Boarding happens in stages, starting with persons who need assistance, such as elderly or families with small kids, then first and business class, then frequent fliers, and then coach class.
3 :
I just want to add, that they may make you unwrap the box: for that reason either use a gift bag or leave it unwrapped & take paper & bow with you. make sure your bag fits the carry one size designated by your airline (their web will say). Have a nice flight. (Ps: if you do not leave the secure areas in Charlotte (ie exit through the security gate) you do NOT need to re-do security).

Something that happened to me yesterday and real upset about it

Something that happened to me yesterday and real upset about it?
Yesterday I was on a 2 hour flight from charlotte to my hometown in my houston and 1 of my brothers who I used to stay with picked me up from the airport straight to the greyhound bus station to ride a bus to dallas which took 5 hours and made me real upset talking about he don't want no drama from me at my own house that I signed for so me and him and baby momma & children could stay in,the reason why I left him in the first place was because all he was doing was putting debt in my name and having me babysitting his bad ass children all the time,I'm a 28 year old male with a disability,in november of last year i moved to virginia where the rest of my kinfolks live, but I had to live for personal reasons and comeback home, when i was at the greyhound station I had 25 minutes to buy a ticket and i decided to called my other bro which was no help at all because he told me I should sell my laptop and I hung up on him,and bought the ticket,on the way to dallas I call my brother who picked me up from the airport and we ended arguing and I cursed him out because I did'nt like whole idea of taking to the bus station straight from the airport, has anyone else been through a simular situation like this?

Oh yeah...I had a situation pretty much exactly like this one. My solution was I went back to the bus station and sat in the mens' room for 20 minutes before my sister in law called and told me to trade my Ford Escort in for a Toyota Celica which made me super mad so I called my uncle who was baby sitting my 4 kids and told me that the oldest just called the baby a doody-head which made me even madder so I walked around in a circle for another 15 minutes before going to the pharmacy and buying some Pepto-Bismol for my upset stomach because I have digestive issues which my doctor told me was due to so much stress and could lead to an ulcer which made me really mad because my grandpa died from an ulcer back in '73 and I thought I would die from it too. wow, I thought I was alone!!

disney does have buses that run from the orlando airport to the hotels and ones thattake you back to the air port. but you have to be there at a certain time and if ur not there at that time they will leave without you and the port orleans riverside is really nice so is the caribean hotels
2 :
You are asking for a lot of info. Best Hotel: Contemporary Hotel - right on the monorail, easy for transportation to all theme parks. Look for a book called Birnbaums's Walt Disney World ($11.53 on Amazon.com). Yes their is transportation - Disney's Magical Express from Orlando International to your hotel. Tickets depend on how long you stay. The longer you stay the cheaper the price per day is to attend the parks.
3 :
All the Disney hotels are wonderful! You can check them all out yourself on the disney website. Disney has buses called the Magic Express from the Orlando website. When it comes time to make your reservations you just have to call 1-407-WDISNEY and let them know your reservation number and flight number and you're all set! It's a great service and it's free! http://home.disney.go.com/travel/ The best book to get for tips and advice is Birnbaums Book - you can get it at any bookstore from Amazon. There are also alot of great Disney message boards. I like the Intercot boards, and www.mousesavers.com you can sign up for their monthly newsletter that will give you information about the Disney calendar, refurbishments at the park, etc.... Have a great time planning!
4 :
f I had the money, I'd choose a room at Animal Lodge overlooking the Animal Park or at The Polynesian with a veiw of Magic Kingdom fireworks. However I must economize and generally choose to either camp at Fort Wilderness or stay at The French Quarter. If you want to enjoy nightly dining in Epcot's World Showcase, then choose a hotel within walking distance of that park's "back door" entrance. A Disney bus will give you free transportation too and from Orlando International Airport. For information an cost of Disney lodging and tickets, go to the Disney page. It's easy to google up and easy to use. It's even easier to call the toll free number; the people at the other end can answer all your questions and really help you to plan a trip that fits your budget -- they don't push you to upgrade at all. With the cost of car rental, you may want to drive instead of fly. It's really nice to have a car so you can drive "off campus" sometimes. Believe it not, you can get kind of sick of Disney and want to escape to "real life" after a day or two -- especially if you need to buy something. Disney prices are a lot higher than out in the real world!
5 :
Hi, I love the Wilderness Lodge and the Polynesian Resort. But any of the Disney Resorts are great!! Have a great trip and check out the link below for loads of information.
6 :
I like Wilderness Lodge or Animal Kingdom Lodge. The best economic deals would be at Pop Century or Fort Wilderness though. Disney would definitely provide transportation to and from the airport and resort. They are there to provide you with the best vacation possible. Good luck and have fun!
7 :
There are three types of hotels- Deluxe Resorts Moderate Resorts Value Hotels and Rosorts I've only been to Deluxe resorts. I definently suggest the Contemporary. It is family friendly and has excellent dining and room service. There are two pools, a playground, a marina, three resturants; Chef Mickey, an Italian resturant on the 15th floor, and the Steak House. And it even has a mini-mall inside it.
8 :
Overall, (value, experience, rooms, fun, location) I'd say the Wilderness Lodge.

you can't go wrong with any disney hotels. the all-stars are nice if you are on a budget but for the money i would go with caribbean beach resort. it is awesome! disney runs the "magical express" which takes you to and from the orlando airport for free on a very comfortable bus. cost of tickets varies depending on how many days you want to visit the parks. it decreases on a per day basis the more days you go. for books you can get the " 2008 unofficial guide to disney world" on amazon which will answer all of your questions. best website for air and hotel deals is definitely http://www.travelcuse.com . the site is an aggregator so it takes offers from all the online travel sites and shows you the best deals. highly recommended. good luck!
