Trip Itinerary Advice! (; What to pack? Best answer gets 10 pts.?
I'm going to FL in April, and I want to know how to dress for spring in Florida! What's it like during the rainy months? I'm sure it's a lot different than in Ohio! Anyway, I'm 14 and I'll be on my own, on a connecting flight to Charlotte, then to Jacksonville. There's only a 45 minute or so lay-over. So basically, I NEED A LIST OF THINGS TO PACK FOR MY TRIP! That's where you come in(; It'll be a four/five day trip. Also include HOW to pack them (ex: shampoo in a 3 oz. container) please and thank you! personally I would travel as light as possible... airlines charge ridiculous fees for baggage these days, so id go with 1 bag. Id take1 pair shoes (on your feet) and flip flops, 5 pairs of socks, 2 pair of shorts, 1 dress outfit, 1 sweater, 1 pair jeans, a hat, a few t-shirts, sunscreen, bug spray and health and beauty aids...and swimsuit. If your going to buy this stuff before you go, you may want to think about buying it when your there, or if your staying in a hotel they'll have most all of the health and beauty aids for you. Eat a big meal before you get on the plane in ohio and wait till your destination to eat again cause everything in the airports are way over priced. try to avoid checking any luggage and just bring 1 carry on with no liquids. it will save you time while going through security and you wont need to go to baggage claim when you get to florida... its going to be humid, not sure how chilly or hot depending on where in florida your going to be...check the weather channel the week before you go and you'll be prepared. when you pack your clothes I would not fold them and pack them flat, fold them and roll them up tight to use up less space in your bag, and if your worried about getting rained on somewhere along the way and dont want your clothes in your bag to get wet, then line your bag with a trash bag or something like that before you put your stuff in it, that way your stuff wont get wet. skip the whole health and beauty aids thing, dont bring any,just wait till your there... Travel light. Travel smart. Have fun and i hope i helped!!!

April in Jacksonville is usually pretty warm - you can expect 70s or 80s most days, but you'll want at least a light jacket or sweater since nighttime temps can be coolish (tho probably not much past upper-50s at worst). The afternoon heat usually isn't enough to trigger the pop-up thunderstorms so prevalent in summer, so you shouldn't have to worry about unexpected rain - April isn't particular rainy in Jax...that's in more the fall. It should be plenty warm enough to hit the beach (tho water temp may be another story - if your hotel has a pool, it probably would be warm enough, certainly so if heated) - just might have to do your swimming in the afternoons or evenings once the sun's had a chance to warm the water up from the overnight cooldown. If your shampoos and such are in a carry-on, make sure that besides small bottles, you have them all in a plastic bag so they can be removed and sent thru the scanner separately.

Need some advice on planning a magical trip to Disney World?
Hi. I want the Star Wars fans and the Disney World lovers to help me on planning a trip to Walt Disney World. When are the Star Wars weekends? Also where can I meet Darth Vader? My dad needs info on Disney World's parks and hotels. Me and my dad never been to Walt Disney World before and we are wandering is Disney World fun? Where can my dad get 2 cheap tickets to Disney World and a cheap flight from Charlotte to Orlando? Also where can I go and buy me a Darth Vader shirt and hat at Disney World? Please read this question and help me on planning a magical trip after I gruaduate from High School. Thank you for your support. Also, where can I get my photo taken with Stitch and Tigger? Wow, well you guys will have a blast! I don't know much about "Darth Vader" and what not but im sure you can find out at www.disneyworld.com. Disney parks are amazing; there are four main parks. Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, MGM and Epcot. Depending on what your range for pricing for hotels is they have all differnt kinds to accomodate your familys budget. The lowest pricing range is the Value resorts. They are standard rooms with (im pretty sure two queen sized beds but you cant ask for whatever) and a tv. It's very plain and simple the standard room, but the hotels are colorful and fun. the value resorts are Pop Century, All Star Music, All Star Sports, and All Star Movies. The moderate hotels have a bit more to the rooms and there are the middle price for the hotels in Walt Disney World. This includes (Port Orleans, Saratoga Springs and many more). The highest end for hotels are the Deluxe hotels and they are the most exspensive. This includes Disney's Wilderness Lodge, The Grand Floridian, Animal Kingdom Lodge, The Contemporary, and The Beach Club (plus more). Your father can get cheap tickets which are hopper passes-- but it depends on how many days you are spending. Try jetblue.com for cheap airflight prices. You can probably but darth vader merchandise in MGM im assuming; i haven't seen any recently but if you ask the cast members im sure they can point you in the right direction. once again im not sure where you can get your picture taken with darth vader but im sure you can get it taken at the convention (if they even still have it) for tigger and pooh, they are around Crystal Palace (which is a resutrant in Magic Kingdom and you NEED reservations to get in, it's a character lunch so you will see more than jsut tigger and pooh you will see poohs whole gang!) Stitch you can probably find in tomorrow land. And finally of course you gusy will have fun, Disney is for everyone not just for kids, adults are kids to you know!

Hey there. First answer; the Star Wars weekends at Disney World for 2008 are the weekends(each Friday, Saturday, and Sunday) of June 6th through June 29th. Unfortunately there is no guaruntee that you will get to meet Darth Vader however, I'm sure the chances of you finding him somewhere around MGM park during Star Wars Weekends is high. :) As for Disney World's parks and hotels, simply go to www.waltdisneyworld.com and click on the parks tab or resorts tab. If you've never been before, you're sure to love it! If you want to stay at a resort, and need to find plane tickets as well, I recommend you go to that site(wdw) and find the place that says "Magic Your Way Package". It's a very simple way to plan your Disney vacation exactly the way you want it(including air travel). OR if you'd rather find out more about how to plan your trip, you should definately order the free DVD from the disney website that can be mailed to you to help you plan your vacation. I'm sure once you get to Disney's Hollywood Studios(or MGM park), you'll be able to find a store that sells all the Star Wars merchandise(including the Darth Vader shirt and hat). If you want to meet Stitch and Tigger, then your best bet is to also buy tickets to the Magic Kingdom(my favorite of the four parks at Disney World). Stitch can usually be seen in Tomorrowland(where you can meet and take pictures with him), and Pooh and all his friends (including Tigger) usually hang out near the front of the park. If not, then eat at the Crystal Palace Buffet (where all the Winnie-the-Pooh characters are). Be prepared to wait in line for your chance to take your picture with the characters. At Disney, they're the celebrities and kids of all ages are anxious to get their autographs. :) The best time to go to Disney World is in the off-season, because it's not so crowded. However Star Wars weekends take place in-season, in the middle of the summer. Everything depends on how much money you have in your budget, and how much time you can spare. If you go for a week, then experience ALL four parks and possibly one of their water parks too. If you only have a few days, then I'd recommend you go to Magic Kingdom and MGM since these sound like the two places you'd like to visit most. I hope you have a lot of fun on your trip to WDW! It's sure to be a magical experience. :)

That's a tough situation you're in. I can't believe the outrageous service charges for modifying a ticket date. Have you tried chapoair's customer service? They might be able to help with alternate suggestions. They regularly have a number of flights under $199. there are quite a few sites that you can search that will likely give you the best prices available. check out the website BookMe and you will be able to compare prices on all the reputable travel sites in just a couple minutes. it's very convenient and will save you a bunch of time and money. Why did US Airways Ruined my wedding in Punta Cana, DR?
The pilot told me I couldn't store my carry on bag, which had my tux, other outfits, and artificial flowers, because they had no more room. We had a connecting flight in Charlotte. When we got to Punta Cana, there was no bag. When I looked at the number on the baggage slip the pilot filled out, it had the wrong flight number. I called all day, all the next day trying to get my bag. I was told it was in route, then told they don't know where it is, and then told buy another tux and they will give me 250 back for the tux. I am in Punta Cana, I am 6'2. How in the world would i find a tux? Needless to say they ruined our wedding. I want to sue them, how much should I sue them for or is that even an option? When I was talking too the baggage claim people, it felt like I was talking to an idiot everytime. I am so mad right now. Okay people, I hear a lot of people saying well I should have known they could lose my luggage, or I should have gotten their earlier. In my message I said when I was boarding the plan. My tux didn't weigh a lot its only a suit. It wasn't a lot of artificial flowers.It was the size of a garmet bag, and probably weigh 10lbs. I am aware that bags can be lost thats why I took my tux in as a carry on. The pilot took my bag and said no one else can bring on carry on because they let people bring big bags, or more bags then they were suppose too. The actual pilot wrote the number on my bag. I could have gotten there 15 hours ahead of time, but I would have only found out that the plan was too back at boarding time.

You can probably sue them for the value of your tux that they lost and that's about it. Sadly, when flying loss of luggage is a risk you take and the airlines don't have a great deal of responsibility.

They lost your tux, and you can get the cost of your tux. However, as far as "ruining" your wedding, that is something you can't sue for. You should have shipped the tux in advance. Anyone that flies knows these things can happen

Read the fine print on your ticket. The airline probably limited its liability to the face value of your belongings.

Did you consult with the Airline about your important baggage. Due to the new guidelines about carry-ons, they must be within a certain weight limit or they can not be carried on or you pay a huge extra fee. It sounds like a carry-on with a tux and artificial flowers might have been quite large. You are suppose to let the airline know ahead of time that you are flying for you wedding and ask if special accommodations can be made for you important attire and other wedding related luggage. Second, this is why you should have allowed LOTS of time at the airport. If you could not bring the bag on board you should have asked on of the flight attendants if you could exit the plane because you wanted to go back to baggage claim, speak with someone personally and make sure you bag was checked onto the right flight. This is why it's so important to get to the airport early, especially for something like your wedding. With that said, even if the airline lost you bag, you can't sue them because they ruined your wedding. In the end, when you check your baggage, you should always remember that it could not arrive. Everyone that flies knows that. The airline is not responsible because you choice to bring those items with you and they did not met the requirements for being carried on board, which was something you should have been aware of and made proper arrangements.

Ok, this morning I was supposed to go on a flight to Charlotte, North Carolina to see my mother but last night she called me up and said that I cant come because Matt (her boyfriend) kicked her out and this is what she said "I worked SOOO hard all day to get things ready for you, I cleaned all of the bathrooms, I got $200 worth of groceries, I bought an air mattress for you, and I had a couple beers." Her boyfriend then kicked her out of the house because she had two beers. Do you think that is right? Anyways, this morning she called me back, she was staying in a hotel , and she asked me if we were still coming (isnt that crazy), I then told her that I had cancelled the flight because I didnt want to be stuck in that kind of a mess, she then hung up on me because she was angry. What should I do and how should I cope with this? She said dont come last night so I wasnt going to upset her more. What else could have started the fight, she isnt an alcoholic.

I would be willing to bet that a "couple of beers" was really a lot more than a "couple". You did the right thing. Why would you want to subject yourself to that? If she isn't in danger in any way, it sounds like things are pretty normal in her life (as in normally a MESS).

Why do they keep saying airline prices are going down with the bad economy this holiday season?
When they really aren't... For the past month I have been searching for a flight from Charlotte, NC or Greensboro, NC to San Juan, PR for the time frame around New Years Eve and they're all around 550-650 dollars! I thought about breaking down and just forking out the money to see my friend but I heard on the news the other day that people should wait till the week of Christmas to book flights because they're going to keep going down. But it seems this is not true and I'm using avacation.com which lists all the BEST airfares!! Advice? Anyone know where I can get a good deal on this flight? Would really like to spend 300 or less.

It's going to be very difficult to get a flight that cheap especially because you're so close to departure and it's the holiday season. Airlines release dates and fares 11 months out, so if you were to buy your tickets 11 months ago is when you would find the cheapest fares. And the closer you get to your date, the more espensive your flight becomes. So there general rule of thumb is to book your flight early. I have not heard that flights will be cheaper and are going down, and even if they are, they will not go down from $650 to $300 or less. The cheapest I found was $743 plus taxes and fees. If you really want to go I would breakdown and book your tickets now. If you wait until the week of Christmas, you could be paying $1000 or more. Good Luck!

You have to also see if it is peak travel season. Even though the economy is bad, airlines are compensating by cutting flights so there are less seats available to sell. Be flexible on your travel dates if possible. Charlotte may not be that cheap to fly out of since US Airways has a major presence there. See if there are other alternative airports that you can fly out of. If you are willing to drive to Greensboro, would you possibly consider Raleigh-Durham? JetBlue may fly out of there to New York will you connect to San Juan. Go JetBlue's website and see how much a plane ticket is. I don't think they partner with a travel website.
